What are the two slots in front of the CXS for?

I gave myself a CXS for my birthday, and the device has two slots in the front.  What are they for?  Are they magnetized and possibly designed to hold bits not in use?

Thats exactly what they are for. And yes they are magnetic.

That is the one complaint I have about the CXS.

I love the bit storage on my C-12 but, I have lost a half dozen tips out of the CXS's storage.  The tips just don't stay in there as well as they do on the c-12.

Unless I am not supposed to keep 4 of them stored on the CXS...

i have stopped using the magnetic storage on the protool 18volt drill also.
yes, they look pretty sitting there.
but when you use the drill under normal construction use, they drop off.
and i loose money having to replace my philip head bits.

They do not fall off my C-12, unless I drop it off a ladder.....

Ditto!  The bit storage is great on the C-12.  One of my favorite features...    [wink]

The edges of the slots are too curvy to be effective, and the magnets allow the bits to move around a bit under light usage.  I think the hold on the bits should have more of a mechanical component, including the magnet.
