I bought a sand paper kit for my RO90 a few years back. I got these 2 pads with the kit. Just yesterday I was organising the sand paper and inventorying what I had so I could order more which I did.

I forgot about these. I never used them but got me thinking what exactly are the for.

One is grey and sort of soft, the other is a maroon colour still soft but not as soft as the grey one.

Anyway so I'm wondering what these are used for.
Thanks guys

They appear to be Vlies disks.  From the FestoolUSA website:

"Vlies (6 Matches)

Vlies (pronounced fleece) is excellent for deep pore cleaning on natural woods, veneers and is great for use on contours. Perfect for cleaning and de-rusting metal. Aluminum Oxide or Silicon Carbide, Synthetic Resin, Stearate on Silicon Carbide Only."

The maroon one is a good cleaning pad, the gray is a decent buffing pad.

They can also be used on solid surface to achieve a matte finish.

Additionally, they can be used to clean baked on grease from an outdoor grill. I fry a lot on out side burner and the oil gets like baked enamel stuck to the stainless steel. A good degreaser and the RO 90 takes it right off.

They aren't bad at cleaning grout, though not the skinny kind.

I used them to clean baked on stuff from an indoor cooktop, with the RO 90.  Worked great!

Funny that everyone so far is using them for cleaning up after cooking !

Thanks guys, I won't let the wife read this, she aren't using my tools for cleaning, she can get her own  [big grin]

I was playing with them today used them to buff a wax finish.

All that hand buffing for nothing .
