Here in the US many millions of people are getting an additional "refund" check from the government. The idea is that everyone will go out and spend the money and help the economy. Many economists are saying so many people are straddled with debt that the money will probably go toward credit card bills or other bills. Not sure how purchasing from a German company will help the US economy(I am sure the US dealers make something on these tools), but I am using my 1800.00 on Festools how about you!

Booze and diapers ;D and maybe a fistful of painkillers and some smokes.  :P Who says you have to live in the US to be white trash? :o

That's a great Idea!
So you gonna help the German economy and the US one also, for shipping the Products.
I wish, they would do the same in Germany!

Gonna stuff it in savings, just to be ornery...

(Ignore that we've bought a Domino, a DeWalt 735 planer, and a Leigh 24" dovetail jig in the past month, no economy stimulus here, move along...)

There's no way that we will qualify to receive any of it,  but I'll be sure to fuel the economy somehow anyway.  There's going to be some new Festools in my future and some B&W 802D's as well.

My wife claimed her 1/2 of the $$$ already and is going to wrestle me for the remaining 1/2 (she gets to use a frying pan to soften me up).

I am going to buy some it is locally grown and milled lumber (mesquite).

I teach a class on Thursday nights on the various ways to sneak in tool to the workshop without the significant other knowing about it.  I would like to know of methods that I am unaware of.

Anybody have resourceful ways they would care to share?

Timmy C

PS.  I for one have never done that! (I had to say that in case momma checked in on the threads.)  :o

Wishing that I would receive one.  ;D

Maybe you will need to move to Western Canada to cash in on this, Frank. According to some scenarios their cessation from Canada is emminent, with annexation soon to follow. ;)

??? Maybe one of the reasons that they are considering this is to escape from the Haffle Canada monopoly on Festool slaes.  ???

SSSHHH,

Don't tell the germans my government is sending me money.  They'll start sending me fliers for tools & seducing me, all in order to get my refund check.  ;)

I make sure I order a lot of stuff at once, so you can slime through a major purchase with a minor asswhipping. Proportionately speaking.

Then when the add'l random box shows up I just say it was something they forgot. I call it "The Green Blizzard", because you can't tell which green is coming and which is going. Confusion style procurement.

Also pay for the tools with your private fun card, not linked to any joint accounts, private password, that you pay online. No paper bill comes to the house.

Several years ago I pulled "The Gray Stump" out of my quiver of techniques.

Momma had gone to see her family in California for 10 days so I bought a Unisaw with a 50" Beis.  My plan was to deploy the good old US "Shock and Awe" on her; build her the night-stand she had been wanting and have it done before she got home.  I got the night-stand done, and it looked awesome.  However, at the time my shop was not built yet.

When she went to pull her car in the single stall garage we had at the time well....I definitely got an asswhipping when she saw this "gray stump" taking up the garage.

Dude, that was brutal!!!!!

However, it did propagate a new shop for Timmy C.  There is something about Californians; they have to have a garage to park their car's in.  ???  To this day, I am not sure if it was not being able to park the car in the garage; or, seeing a $2000 saw in her garage.

PS.  She got me back when she brought home a Sony Brevia that cost more that my old F-150.  :D

You guys have to work to hard to get this stuff :-)

My wife has been asking every few days if I've ordered the router yet.  Keeps telling me I need to get it before the price increases.

Yep... I own some now,  but not the  big 802's...  The 802D's are 12K and the HTM2D center is 4k.  ouch!

Chris,

Its just not the 12k for the speakers then its the 3k for the transparent speaker cables.  I have some b&ws in the 600 series I have always planned on upgrading but always find another hobby ie woodworking that takes up all of my money.  I have heard a couple of the sets in the 800 series it was amazing.  Of course it was hoked up to some mark levinson equipment so that didn't hurt.  I think I was about 50k short of buying the system! :)
