What batteries work with the Carvex

Excuse me if there is a stream already set up for this.  I just bought a Carvex PSBC 420 EB which comes with one BP 18 5.2 Ah AirStream battery and the SCA 8 charger, which has two connectors, apparently for two different battery types.

I want to buy an additional battery but prefer to go lowest cost.  Which batteries work with both the Carvex and the SCA 8?  If I buy one of the earlier BPC 2.6 Ah batteries, will it both work with the Carvex and charge on the SCA 8?

Thank you in advance for all assistance and suggestions.

Suitable for tool types:
for all Li-ion battery packs (except for CXS/TXS)

The charger will only accept one shape of battery. I don't have this charger at hand myself, but how did you draw the conclusion there are 2 different types of connectors on it?

As for your Carvex, it will also accept all types of Li-Ion batteries from 12 to 18 volt, except the differently shaped CXS/TXS batteries.

Yes, as Alex says above, your Carvex will accept all the 15 v and 18 v batteries. Mine came with a 15 v battery which I now use on the Festool radio that I reviewed a while ago.

Thank you for the answers.  I'm the guy who started this message stream.  The Carvex is my first Festool tool that uses this shape of battery and I mistook the two sets of plastic guides and metal inserts on the charger as being for two different style batteries but apparently one set is just guides and supports for the heavy battery.  Rereading the user instructions, the tech specs note that multiple voltage batteries work.  Therefore I think I will get one of the smaller, lower amp-hour 18V batteries as my emergency spare as I don't like having only one battery for a tool.

Thank you again,
Gary

The smaller 3.1 18v makes the tool a bit handier too. Especially on the drills. But it won't run the TSC or HK saws.

What Seth said!

I got a couple of the 3.1s and do not want to miss them. Have one on each drill and like to take them on the PSC420 instead of the 5.2 for smaller jobs.
But it you have a lot to cut, you‘ll be switching frequently with the small batteries...

.....minor correction. The HK is an 18v brushless so the 3.1will run the saw with no issues.

Oops. Good to know.  I had wished that the TSC55 would run on my 1.5 C12 12v so that I could have one jobsite battery. I even contemplated switching to compact 18v a while ago until I discovered that the compact 18v wouldn't run the saw either.  [sad]
