I have a TS-55REQ that I just purchased.  My first Festool ;D

I'm going to cut a Maple Butcher Block table topdown from 36 X 96 X 1 ½ down to 30 X 72 so it will fit in my office.
I have the 48 tooth blade that came with the TS-55 and a 496305 12 tooth blade.  They are both sharp because they are both new.  Which do I use?

Thanks,  Jeff

I've cut a few slabs of Boos maple counter tops with a TS 75 and the Universal Blade that comes with the saw. It was no problem and left a nice edge.

The TS 55 comes with a Fine Tooth Blade so it's a little different. I think I'd try to get the cut down on the part I was going to cut off before I worked on the finished edge. Maple can want to burn so you might have to slow the blade speed down?

I suspect that blade will work quite well cross grain but might struggle ripping. That's why I would experiment before the cuts that count.

I cut this maple plinth with my TS-55 and 48 tooth blade. Cut 1/3 deep per pass. Work very well.

Working link, 2 posts below.
