i'm close to buying the 1400eq and have a question.  I was on a vendors site and it showed a picture of the edge guide with the 1400.  Questions what exactly do you get with the 1400?.  I've sent e-mails to this vendor in the past for posting pictures of items not really with the item i.e. the large table with the kapex.  They said it was a mistake and would correct, but to this date CPO still has that misleading pic.

The OF 1400 EQ comes with 3 collets, (1/4", 8 mm, and 1/2"), a snap-in dust extraction hood with an opening to slip it over most bits and then be closed, and a chip catcher that is particularly useful with edge routing. It also comes standard with a PC style, Guide Bushing Adapter that snaps into the base. like the DC hood above.

It comes with the PlugIt cord and Systainer, manual and rods also.

There are enough optional accessories to confuse anyone that isn't completely familiar with them so it's a good idea to talk to someone if you have any questions. The full compliment of accessories and the power/balance/smoothness of this router make it my personal favorite.

Thanks for the reply.  It just burns me when vendors post pictures that are misleading.  You see a picture of a router with the edge guide and a link to put it in your cart only to find that does not come with the unit.  I suspected this to be the case since this vendor has done it before.

If you look at the Festool USA website, the gallery of photos for the 1400 has the same picture.  I don't think their intent is to deceive especially since CPO lists exactly what is included and what isn't.  They're just trying to show how this can be used.  It would be clearer if there would be some kind of disclaimer such as "shown with optional accessories."  USA also shows it with the MFS and guide rail.

I'm sorry but posting a pic with options that are not included is misleading.  They have done it before.  I know you should read thrououghly and I do, that was one of the reasons I checked and secondly they did the same thing when I was looking to buy my kapex.  They had the package price with the mft.  In the pic they showed the larger table with the clamps instead of the kapex table.  I almost bought based on that pic, but then did the research and discovered it.  I sent feed back on the website and did eventually receive a communication apologizing and stating it was an honest mistake and they would correct.  Well until very recently it was still there.  Once is an honest mistake two times is a trend.   Needless to say I did not purchase from CPO.

Thanks to all for clearing up what comes with it.

The 1400 used to come with the edge guide. About two years ago the edge guide was dropped from the basic unit but the price was kept the same. I have an edge guide with mine and a friend who bought two about six months apart got a edge guide with the first but not the second. Sounds like the web site picture is old.
