I have a couple of Sys 1 Unis, thought it would be a good way to store screws but I am finding them rather useless. There is so much of wasted space in them, the small compartments are too small for a good quantity of mid size screws and the large compartment is too big even for really long screws. Surely Festool designed them for some other purpose which I am wondering what that could be. Looking for ideas so I could re-purpose them, otherwise I might throw away those inserts and buy the coloured boxes from the Sys Box but they seem to be only sold by sets of individual sizes, not the pack as it comes in Sys box.
What do you store in a SYS 1 UNI?

I too found the standard box layout not to my liking. And bought a pack of red boxes to replace the blue ones (i think there's 12 in a pack). The reds are a quarter the size of the blue ones, so that gave me quite some more diversity in storage.
But indeed the reds don't hold large quantities. But for my needs it works ok like this.

Here in the uk, I have a few metal screw boxes that come with a variety of different sized plastic screw organizers that fit and interchange with the festools plastic organisers. They fit perfectly in the sys 1. I have picked up a couple of these at car boot sales and for less than £5☺ and now I have enough plastic organisers to fill another 3 sys 1s.
