Hi Everyone

I think that I have exhausted all of the mechanisms for passing hints to my wife about what I would really like for Christmas. The one that has worked the best in the past was getting a woodworking friend to first compliment my wife on her excellent home made cake and follow that shortly with "...Peter, you really need to get a decent finish sander, I have lent you mine 5 times now."

The other one that worked for one of the routers was to point out how much easier it would make the cabinet work that I was doing for my elder daughter.

I want an MFS. When I borrowed one from Festool UK in order to make the video I was so impressed that I got rid of a whole bunch of jigs that I had made. But then I bought my first lot of Festool storage boxes (and since bought more) and so still no MFS.

The storage solutions were an absolute luxury but they really have transformed the way that I organise my stuff and I have saved a lot of space.

So with just about 16 days to go - what Festool kit do you really want for Christmas?

I have been busy in my workshop this week fabricating some 3.6mtr long sections of Corian. On a couple of occasions during the process, I have had to join a shorter rail to my FS3000 to get the necessary lengths for cutting with the TS75 and for routing out rebates etc.....Its a pain in the a..e!......3000 + 1400 and there is still a bit of movement in the joint and I have to re set it every time I pick it up and put it down again.
So, I'm thinking I may have to drop "her indoors" the hint that Santa may like to bring me an FS5000, but quite how he will manage to get it on his sleigh is another matter....!

I'm also tempted by the new CT Bluetooth Remote System for my CT26, but that will have to be in the New Year.

CXS or maybe TXS. Have always regretted slightly going for the C15 a couple of years back- it's nowhere near as heavy as the PDC but it's still more substantial than it needs to be. I'd very much prefer to have the lightweight manoeuvrability of the CXS...

I love the CXS. I use it almost as much as the Kapex. The PDC has a lot of merit and has (I understand) the fastest speed of any battery powered drill on the market. The battery lasts forever. If you have seen my video putting a new roof on a stable block then you would have seen that drill put in well over 1200 long(ish) roofing screws on one charge.

The drill that I really want right now is the C18. My friend has one and I was going to borrow it for a short video but he did not have all the accessories. He may by now have sold it on ebay and gone for the PDC18.

I really - really - really - would like to have a CMS OF2200, but considering my kids are rather poor, I probably am going to give it to myself. (The alternative being gifting them the means to give it to me, which seems rather off to me.)

Considering this I feel rather guilty that I belong to the baby boom generation (although I have been born at the end of that cycle) that has profited so much from the fruits of our earth, leaving the generations to come to bear the consequences of our bad habits.

But that is another thread, right?

CMS OF2200, yeah!

[UPDATE] I just bought one. That's one crossed of my list!

I would like a couple of empty systainers

A 3 drawer and one of those with a drawer at the bottom as I want to organise all my mechanical tools (gave my tool chest to my son)

I don’t think anyone will buy me them so took the precaution of ordering them myself  [big grin]

Mick

And I suppose I will need a new vac in the new year oh and probably a fliping 6.2ah Bluetooth battery  [mad]

I buy what I want, wrap it, tag from my wife. She is really surprised to see what she got me when I open it.

Hi Phil

Were you at the airport when it was cancelled ?

My daughter, who lives not far from Heathrow, sent a photo showing at least 6" of snow.

I was so lucky last year the Festool Santa brought me the BHC 18 in their Christmas competition which was so. great

I have been so good this year and have so many items on my list

Kapex to replace my big DeWalt saw
Both the DF500 and DF700 to make up the 4  kitchens, table and garden fencing.

I would have liked to have got hold of the KF 5 (putty router) to refurbish the remaining 5 timber casement windows on a customer job. They had been painted with a some tar paint and have been exposed to the sun and sea winds for decades and the putty has resisted everything - heat guns, multi tool blades, scrapers, solvents, chisels.  My RO 150 does make some inroads but way to big, so it is going to be an RO 90 and DTS400

Some longer tracks for my TS 55 and HKC 55.

A cordless screwgun or two for the 4,000 sq ft of plasterboard (drywall) if have to fit.

And now I have seen them a new extractor and cordless sander

And of course a SysRock and some lights

Of course  they will have to come with a complete set of the dominos,  sanding pads, disks etc.

Totting it all up in UK prices it is going north of £5,000 ($6,800) Don't think Santa is going to be that generous and will have to wait for some voucher deals like last year.

Which Festool would come out with replacement medical parts - I could do with some new knees as well  ;D

Still stuck in Amsterdam Airport. Going on 24hours now. Hopefully I’ll get out in time actually today at 9:30a before the next snow storm hits at 11a

I'd like an MFT, but I don't think Santa is going to have room for one this year.

I heard that this snow in Europe is helping him quite a bit so do not give up hope.

I'd love the Conturo edge bander kit, but I'd like my balls to remain attached to my torso more and I fear they may soon lack attachment should Santa bring that kit to me!

Come on ! You are a cricketing nation - man up and wear a box like the rest of us !

(for those that are not familiar with the game the "box" is designed to protect a chap's important bits)

Peter, maybe a “ box” is in order then. 😜
