What glue press would you recommend?

I tried earlier to get info from members on the Barth glue press  but was spectacularly unsuccessful so now I'm wondering what people are using for a glue press or do you rely strictly on clamps. I am looking for glue-ups of things like doors, panels and table tops. Any advice will be most appreciated.http://www.barth-maschinenbau.de/ David

David;
Firstly thanks for the heads up on Barth presses. I was not aware of them.
They are very similar to the Felder presses. Verleimpresse FVP 2401 - Felder Group

Is this for a production shop or smaller custom shop?
Are you looking for pneumatic w/ RF or manual?
While I don't own a press yet, I have been actively researching them for upcoming projects. My acquisition roadmap would probably go as follows. I like the Planno glue press and it's on my list for purchase and is sold in Ontario by Advanced Machinery. After that I will probably move up to a Felder type press and buy a hand held RF unit like the WorkRite4000.
There are some interesting pneumatic/hydraulic glue presses like Duin but I don't need that capacity currently.
Hope that helps a bit.

Tim, thanks for the info. I am considering the RPG models with the  hand hydraulics. I believe that Barth was the manufacturer of the Felder press and recently has started to focus on their own product line. They are being sold by Rangate in the USA and Canada. They certainly look like a substantial piece of equipment. It would be good to hear from someone who has actually used the product.

It's good to know that Rangate is marketing these presses in Canada. You may already done this but have you contacted Rangate for references?
Joe Calhoon of Cascade Woodwork has posted his review of the Domino XL and has worked with Rangate. If you look at the pictures of his shop, you will see photo's of a glue press. I am not sure it's a Barth but it wouldn't hurt to talk to him about his.
Good luck, and thanks for starting this thread.

Tim, I have been in touch with Greg Godbout of Rangate and he is going to get some references but I was interested if any Fog folks had any experience with them. I actually took a Shaper course at Joe Calhoons in February that was put on by The Alpine Workshop  and he is certainly a very knowledgeable individual and a great person. His press is not a Barth and is very heavy duty. If I get some more info from Greg I'll send you a PM.
