What is a reasonable selling price for a 1010 router?

I hope this is a appropriate to post. I have Festool 1010 that I've had for nearly 2 years and used exactly once. It's my only Festool that I would ever want to get rid of. The new price (Canada) is $574 plus $74 tax. Obviously it's in like new condition with a year of warranty remaining, all original accessories and systainer. Having never sold anything like this before, I have no idea what to ask for it as there are obviously not a lot of used Festools in this condition for sale around here. Any help would be appreciated. Reconditioned tools sold recently for 40% off so if I were in the market I wouldn't pay any more than that price.

short answer is: it varies.
i don't know how it works in canada, but in the usa there are lots of options to obtain new with free shipping and no tax.  so i don't know if the tax amount should be in your calculations to begin with.  second, do you need cash fast, or can you wait to sell it--that certainly will affect price.  third, even if you're not selling on eBay, what is that item going for on the site right now?  there was a thread here a little while back on resale value of festools.  the item that was being watched (ro150 plus one accessory) on the uk ebay site sold for about 25 percent off new.  gross, not net:  that took in account the shipping but not what the seller finally realized after eBay and paypal fees.  finally as a reference, i see in the fog classifieds right now that a 1010 EQ set is selling for $US 375 + shipping on the "extreme festool junkie" listing--not sure if it's identical kit as yours, but i think all his stuff is very lightly used also.

I think you should be happy to get between 60 and 70% new price for a used Festool in very good condition.

Where I live, if it's a newer tool with warranty remaining and in the tloc systainer! you can easily get between 70-80%.  Depends on how long you want to sit on It though.

I've had tools listed on CL for months and then a couple buyers will contact me on the same day.

In my case, I'm always looking to maximize my return, so I'll sit on a listing for a long time to do so.

Thanks - unless buying privately i.e. not from a dealer - there is no chance of avoiding tax legitimately so I find it can play a significant role - Also I doubt i would ebay this as I don't want to ship it - I do find that ebay shipping can be ridiculous sometimes so when you add the shipping to the price it can e significantly higher. I'll probably price it at about 75% of retail which nets out to about 65% of retail because of the tax situation. There actually aren't any on ebay right now other than units located in Europe.
