I am a furniture maker, and am curious which sizes people are using the most in their work.  I am going to give mine the first workout this week.  Can't wait.  I am looking forward to some projects that would take too much time to do my usual M&T techniques.

So, what are you all using the most?

So far I've used the 8mm (40/50mm about equal) the most. The 6mm second and haven't used the other two sizes yet.

Hi,
I make furniture, picture frames, boxes and other odds and sods. I use 6x40 and 8x40 most often and 8x50 for really solid joints. I have used all my 10x50 dominoes up, but if I need them, I either move to a 12x60 M&T or make my own dominoes.

Michael, if your having an issue with the 5mm dominoes being loose in wider cuts, it may pay to check that you have the domino (tool) planted very firmly against the work piece and that you have adequate support for the adjustable plate on top of the work piece. Any movement while cutting a wider cut will show as a slack fit when inserting the tenon. This will be more obvious on the 5mm mortises as the error will represent a greater % of the cut height.

Regards,

Albert

I noticed poor fit when the dust extractor was turned down.  Once the speed of the CT was turned up to full, the domino cut holes to exacting fit.
