what things do you do to your new festools

hi there.
when i get a new festool or put a tool into a systainer i do a few things that make life eaier
i get some double sided velcrow and wrap up the plug it cord (most of my tools are used in the shop  use the plug it hose so the suplied cord is only used on site)
i get a small container to hold any nuts and bolts etc for guide bushings etc so that they are all kept tidy
if there is a need i will buy a screwdriver and put it in the systainer so that i always have everything i need to use the tool. i have a screwdriver in my ts55 sys for the rail joiners adn one in my of200 for the guide bushs
i make a sys inset up for holding the consumables for that tool. sand paper ect

what little extras do you put in with your tools

i put a packet of silica in the systainer under the insert or in a corner to catch any moisture that might sneak in

Just accessories for me -- my routers have a few bits, edge guide, etc... in the case; TS75 has the rail adapters and a spare blade; sanders have a mix or different grit papers, etc...  Good idea on the screw driver or torx driver...

First thing i do is take the plug-it out and throw it in a drawer where i have a stack of unused plug it's as i use the plug it wrapped to the vac hose.
Under my workbench i always have a spare plug it for when i need to work without vac.
Then i usually don't add anything to the systainers as i work mostly in the shop. But when i go on site i will trow stuff in with each systainer like sanding pads with the sanders, router bits and copy rings with the routers etc... but remove all those when i get back in the shop because i prefer to have dedicated spots/drawers for all those things.

I use the preformed inlay for sandpaper and other consumables only if the accessories stay in place, not if they jingle about in the systainer. If they don't fit , i tend to put them in some tupperware. In addition: I do have a pencil in almost every systainer. Jingeling about.

. I thought about the cord/Plug-It storing option as well. Then, decided that unless the new rolled up cord is in my way, that I will leave it in the Tool's Systainer so I always have a spare when I leave the shop.
It would just be my luck to pare down to one cord with whatever CT and cord I leave with , and something would go wrong with that singular Cord that I brought... [embarassed]

By the way, I'm with Alan on Velcro as I wrap all of my plug-it cords with Velcro too. I put little velcro cable management ties on all of my power tools.
Lee Valley sells some too, but you can probably buy them at a lot of computer/electronics stores.

. Correct, if you had to bring just 1 Plug-It, you would want the heavier gauge cord as it fits both lower wattage tools and the higher wattage versions.   The thinner cord common with the smaller sanders and Domino's won't do that as noted in all those posts/threads about this issue.
