What to do with a Systainer IV ?

I just bought the Workshop Cleaning Set and I suspect that the components will likely be either connected full-time to my vac or hanging from a wall.

I'm trying to think of ways to use the Systainer IV it came with.  I've seen the wooden tool inserts for the IV which looks pretty neat.  They also seemed sort of expensive.

Has anybody built inserts for their IV and if so, have plans or drawings to share ?  Any other good ideas for uses for this Systainer (short of just putting another tool in there, since all my other non-Festool power tools came with blow-molded cases) ?

thanks !

edit: Found this thread: http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-tools-accessories/tool-organizer-139/ which describes an insert made by Paul Franklin which looked rather nice.

Actually, that's not a bad idea.

Build a mold on the inside of the IV and use minimally expanding spray foam to fill in the bottom and side.  Then make a tight-fitting lid of the same material.  It should work.  [big grin]

How about fitting a cooler inside for some lunch and a few cool drinks...

I keep 5 nails guns, battery, charger, gas loads, and nails in a sys 4.

I keep my complete drywall kit and paint kit in another sys 4.

my systainer 4 is a lunch box.
i also use them for holding paslode gas guns.

its just a storage box.
i am sure you will work it out....

Make it a radio, step stool, beer cooler, compressor carrier, nail guns can easily go in there, etc.  Just use it as any old tool case for tools that didn't come in a systainer.... aka non Festool tools.

Made this a while back and this seems like the proper place to post it.
I give to you the SANDPAPER CADDY

If I was doing it again I would have a deeper drawer for the steel wool.  Its a little tight in there.  The catch all on top gets used for sandpaper scraps and sanding blocks.  As you can see most of my sanding blocks have walked away.
