I just bought a new ETS 125 2 weeks ago and last night a used ES 125.

With the economics involved, I really think the used ES 125 EQ is the better buy costing me a quarter of what the new ETS 125 EQ costs; however, it's the old model.

What does the forum think as I'm considering returning the ETS 125?

I have both and I see no difference in performance between the two. That said, Festool made some improvements with the newer model so you might want to try them both side by side and see if you notice a difference.

I haven't used the ES so can't speak to that. I usually don't return tools once I have purchased them. However in your case I would consider it. If you think the ES has a good deal of life left and it fits your hand well, then it may become your primary sander over the ETS. Do you need 2 of the same sander? If not, I would consider taking it back. If I felt the ES was going to last for a good while I would probably take it back and use the credit to buy another function sander. Say a DTS or a 150/3 etc, whatever your particular needs are.

I have both and have noticed slightly less vibration in my hand from the new model. The results in the wood are pretty much the same.
