Was searching this weekend for the GRIP-TITE Magnetic Table Saw Featherboard made by Mesa Vista Design but they don't appear to be in production anymore.

Does anyone know why and when they disappeared?

I believe Magswitch ran them outa town roughly 3 years ago.  [unsure]

Grip tite was pretty difficult to use , especially in the early versions that didn't have the release lever.  Magswitch is a breeze by comparison and offered more versatility once they separated the magnets from the holders.

Yes, I have a couple MagSwitch products and like them. I didn't realize they killed off the Grip-Tite though.

Maybe you took "run outa town" too literal.  [unsure]

Are you saying they are still in business? I can't find anything recent and the places I checked
don't seem to stock the Grip-Tite featherboards any more. Tried Woodcraft, Lee Valley, Amazon,
and Rockler. They all have the MagSwitch though.

No longer in business as far as I know, but not because Magswitch bought and then shuttered them.

I was saying a better mousetrap came along and market forces took care of the rest.

They prob turn up on eBay from time to time if you really gotta have one.

OK, I follow now, I'm a little slow today I guess.
Not in the market as I already have one, and it was
pretty much supplanted in my shop with the MagSwitch
a couple featherboards. It just seemed to me like they
were there and next time I looked (today) they were gone.

Mesa Vista Design was a mom and pop style company in Rio Rancho, NM - not far from where I live.  When I google them they show up as "permanently closed", their facebook page seems unused, and their website griptite.com now advertises grip-tite anchors.  Might have been a legal battle over the name...

Sorry to see them go.
