What's New for Festool in 2020

According to this new Festool Live cordless sander video the new Positioning Aid will not be available until Dec. 1st.  [sad]  [sad]

The entire video is well worth watching but the Positioning Aid announcement is at the 15 minute mark.

Why is that thing only for the 125mm machines?
13mm more clearance would have done it... really disappointing how they ignore the 'system' idea these days.

Woodcraft just called and the positioning aid I pre-ordered in July/August just arrived at their store.  [big grin]

Was looking through the what's new on FestoolUSA and found this worktop template.
I don't recall it being discussed here.

I am late to the party here, but CMT has had this template for several years.  It is not available in the USA.  For items not available in the USA I typically go to Amazon UK, CA, NL or AU.  I recently ordered from Amazon.de (they have a translate feature so I can read the English).  The CMT version is made from phenolic as I recall.

172 euros from Amazon.co.italy (about $208.00 US dollars).  Prime does not work internationally.  Probably about $45.00 to ship.

I just looked up the Festool template and I see it at 389 euros (about $470.00) which is over twice the price.  Of course the Festool is made from aluminum and the CMT is made from phenolic.  But in the real world both should hold up about the same.  I imagine that the cost to ship will be similar though the Festool site I found ships from Germany.

Trend makes a similar template, also not available in the US. But I'm sure there is a work around there too.

I picked up my positioning aid this afternoon. Ordered it on September 26. Unfortunately, other projects will keep me from being able to try it out until next week!

A second vendor is offering it at 130 euro.  I guess you have to be careful when shopping on Amazon.  The independent vendors are all over the place in pricing.

I agree.  Trend has a USA website and lists this jig for just $80.00 + tax and shipping.  The other pricing is rapacious.
