What's Peter Halle's Story? (diagnosed with cancer)

Peter,

Excellent news.  I've not been on any wood forums much over the past 6 months or so, but started browsing again over the holidays.  I just ran across this thread tonight, and was unaware of your illness.

Modern medicine is amazing.  Although certainly not life threatening, last Spring I started having problems with my eyesight, and I suspended almost all my activities in my wood shop.  I had cataracts, and they got really bad really fast.  Over the summer I had cataract surgery, and it restored my vision to nearly 20-20.  I wear no glasses 90% of the time, including driving, but do pull out reading glasses for fine work or reading.

Looks like this is going to be a really good year!

Peter:

Seems like the week for good medical news?

I am so happy to hear your news, and your prognosis. I actually LOL'd at your comment that "The major tumor is a dead lump to be naturally dissolved or become a part of my personality." I don't think you're in any danger of the latter part becoming true!

Best of everything to you, my friend.

My Dear Peter

I am absolutely delighted to hear your news - simply brilliant. Your whole approach to your illness has been remarkable and a lot of people, the world over, can learn a lot from that. Attitude, determination and guts count so much.

For anyone whose faith has ever waivered now is the time to renew your relationship with your God.

Today is a great day.

Peter

Terrific news Peter. I look forward to hearing about your woodworking problems again, especially your small area project.

That is great Peter!

Now get back in the shop!  [big grin]

What wonderful news.  Amazing what unlimited goodwill, and good karma, can achieve.
Having read your latest report, the day, somehow, now seems brighter.
Thanks for all you do.
Richard UK.
(Umm...err...when does the hair come back?  [big grin] )

Thank you guys.  Hopefully starting next week life will really get back to more normal.  I have one potential customer who saw the mantel I did a couple of years ago and was willing to wait thru the holidays for me to get better.  We are ironing out some details on the design on the whole thing which will be at least 10' tall.  And yes, there won't be many non-festools on the job.  [big grin]

Regarding the hair question - umm, umm, I'm working on it?  The docs say that it may come in different, but they guarantee that I won't have additional.

In the meantime, rest assured that you are ROCKING the Mr. Clean look!

[thumbs up]

just paste some of that hair your dog sheds on to your forehead and you should be good to go  [big grin]

I prefer to call it my attempt to emulate the Sedge.

I have a White Labrador (my avatar) so if anyone wants the George Clooney look, I would be happy to send you a bag full of hair as he is shedding like crazy!
