Hi I was wondering will the new T18+3 drill kit come to the USA. Will it be as powerfull as the Protool Quadrive 18v drill kit?

Thanks in advance

Gino

I would expect to see it around mid-2011. As for the power, I'm not sure since we do not have a T18 yet and I've never used a ProTool Quadrive 18v.

No the Protool has 4 gears and higher torque (60/40 Nm) then the T18 (30/45 Nm).
The gears are:
1. FES 0-450 & PRO 0-400
2. FES 0-1500 & PRO 0-850
3. PRO 0-1850
4. PRO 0-3800 and that's lot for a accudrill, probably most of all drills out there.
And the Protool weighs 1,8 kg and the T18 1,7 kg.

This is a tiny bit off this thread... But Shane, would you be amenable to posting a consolidated "expect to see approximately..." thread with the no-longer-just-a-rumor items for 2011??

As soon as there definitive information, I will post it. I don't want to post "my best guess" because I don't want to create false expectations.  Launch dates are somewhat a fluid situation.  That's why a lot of times, my time frames are vague and approximate.

Thanks people for the replies

As I suspected regarding the powerThe protool is the most powerfull cordless around. Since I'm used to my current Dewalt 18v XRP dill the weight is not a problem at all.
I think it would be better for me to order the Protool 18v i.s.o the T15+3 since my works demand lots of times powerfull drilling in thick hardwoods and since I'm already addicted to cordless drills I don't see myself very often using corded drills if not when I need to make a lot of drilling in concrete walls and floors.
Since I live in Curacao I can enjoy the tools from all over the world without worrying about the electricity as we have both 120 and 240v standard in each home.

Regards

Gino

It is a lot stronger than the T15 but it certainly isn't the strongest of all. One of the contenders for that title I know of is the Bosch GSR 18 VE-2 Li. It has a maximum torque of 88 Nm while the DPC 18 of Protool only has 60 NM.

I do think it's the fastest around with its 3800 rpm and that's a delight in use. Drilling and screwing goes very fast.
