Where did the Pro 5 Ltd go?

Anyone noticed that the Pro5 Ltd is absent from Festool USA website.  Look under new tools, nada.  Look under sanders, again missing.  What's up Festool, are you embarrassed about the tool, or is it more sinister?

If buy a product and can't find anything about it. Very fishy.  If someone says it's the same as the ETS 125, I say then why a different name.

What gives?

Yes I know if you dig around it's there, but it's a new tool, why absent from all the other new tools. If you go to the sanders page it's not listed.  Sure you can google it, but you should not have to.

All google did was go to the FESTOOL page. You do realize about 75% of all websites use google for their internal search, right?

Its fine where it is, its not hard to find .

I think you are just looking for issues that aren't there. They will update the site someday, maybe they wont.

MMM, we're run into this before depending on browsers or other such factors.  Someone can't find something on the Website, and others are confused how that one person couldn't they find what they were looking for since they had no trouble doing so.
A week or two ago, many of us seem to 'lose' certain sections of the website when we tried to look up accessories for a given tool. Others had no issue.
My frustration with the website goes further than any of this but I often rely on On-Line Festool dealers to 'fill' in the gaps with their great web sites that don't 'lose' things like Festool USA's does.  I've talked to dealers about this, and they've run into the same issues at times, so we're not alone .... [wink]

The OP was hinting there was possible nefarious intentions behind the omission, well his not finding it.

Well, technically its discontinued as dealers will not be taking new orders from now on. Its official now. At this point its just a technical site issue, but I expect it to be eventually removed just like some other discontinued items.

. Well , often things that you know are  discontinued items show up , and then when you actual click on them to gain more info, THEN it's mentioned that the item is discontinued but not early on when you started searching for it
But, the Pro 5 isn't any of that..... [wink]

I hope that Festool keep away from the budget segment.
Otherwise we might as well by yelow B&D....

Still no manual online for it yet. I emailed them about it a week ago and they said it would be on the website on Nov 1st when it released.

There should be a manual in your Systainer once you receive it.

A) Festool's entire site is an absolute nightmare.

B) The product is no longer for sale.

C) Their manuals are all completely worthless.

I see no reason to be bothered by any of this.

A) Festool's entire site is an absolute nightmare. -

Its not perfect, but more than made up for by how good some of the Festool vender websites are. Festools site is no worse than DeWalt or Bosch, but their venders sites are better than any other in the industry.

B) The product is no longer for sale. - It as a limited edition

C) Their manuals are all completely worthless.

Festool has some of the best manuals especially the  supplemental I have ever seen. I read my Bosch jig saw manual and it's horrible. I have never and still don't buy a tools because of it's manual, I plug it in and use it.

I see no reason to be bothered by any of this. - Then why did you post.

You hit on something here that I have yet to understand clearly. Is the Pro5 sander the limited edition never to be seen again or is it only the systainer that is limited edition?

As for their website, Tyler has acknowledged the problems multiple times and said they are soon coming out with a new site.

The other 2 new sanders are permanent, why wouldn't this be? I believe just the systainer and voucher are limited edition.

From my perspective when they name something Limited in the name its limited, not permanent. Whether it be color, power, the way it's packed or whatever.

They may replace the ETS 125 with this and just put it in a regular box, maybe not. For me when LTD is right on the tool that tells me it's not permanent in it's current form. Nothing else has this Pro name either. So if it disappears completely out of the line up it would not surprise me at all, they are not going to keep this and the ETS 125, that makes zero sense. Maybe they take this and put the ETS 125 moniker on it, who knows. Maybe they come out with a bunch of cheap Pro named line of tools, I think that would be a mistake, but again who knows.

The other two sanders dont say LTD or limited right on them. If they do keep this as permanent why use the term limited, that's strange to me. To me that's why this wouldn't be kept in the line up.

The Pro 5 Ltd is just the updated ETS 125 with another name. The updated ETS 125, DTS 400 and RTS 400 are now sold in Europe, and the USA will get them also eventually.
