Ok so i took advantage of the big promotion here in the U.K. and ordered a ts55r  with a1400 rail, compact cleaning set , and a midi extractor . My local dealer ordered it for me with the expected 4-5 day delivery time , after TEN days and numerous calls from my dealer to chase my order i finally got my saw , rail , cleaning set , but no midi ! My dealer rang festool U.K. again and where told next wednesday was the expected delivery date . Has anyone else in the U.K. had to wait 3 weeks for a bl**dy midi after buying into the offer  package wether it be a saw or sander ?  Cant fault my dealer but  Festools way of an apology was to knock about  £10 off the total price for the delay ( due to unprecidented demand ) . Anyway rant over over but not a happy bunny with the wait but love the saw , just makes a lot of dust at the present time [eek]

its a shame that its taking that long.
i waited 4 weeks for my ro150. the irish warehouse was out ,the uk was out, the german  one was on back order.
i was pissed but that went away with the first use
the problem is that festool are no longer stocking any back up stock in the uk . everything has to come from germany(or where ever the main warehouse is)

at least you got 10 gbp off.

I imagine they've been selling like hot cakes with all the deals going on. I bought a midi whilst at the roadshow but Luckily took it on the day.

Thanks for info. about possible delays.
Going to order the Midi - just haven't got round to it yet.  Partly because been dithering what to use the voucher on.
Suppose it's obvious there might well be big back-logs building up - hadn't crossed my mind.
That said, surely they had some inkling that there was going to be 'unprecedented' demand - and planned accordingly.

But...don't think it's good practice to take money until item is dispatched from the dealers.

I believe that 's what reputable mail order companies do - they wait to see to how many orders they get, say from a promotion - before placing a final order with their supplier.  However, they won't take your money till it's on the way to you.  And, it's usually stated in the adverts that might take, say, 4 weeks to deliver.
O/k, a bit like comparing apples to oranges - but still think they shouldn't take the money till the dealer gets it off to the customer.

Someone's getting the interest  from all that money sitting in their accounts.  (ok, I'll grant you, not much these days - lol)

Richard.

Richard I'm sure you'd be able to find one in stock somewhere maybe there's a dealer with midi's in stock in the UK reading this right now you never know.

Richard if your only after a midi you should find one no problem , if you buy it as part of the special deals then you will have to wait .

Dave

I've been informed by my colleague at Festool UK that due to extremely high demand, there is presently a back order on the CT MIDIs there.

Don't know if your 'promo' set of tools arrived yet - hope so.

Fancy you and 'joiner' may have been correct - that getting a lone Midi not so bad.
Because... I have my 240v Midi now.  Ordered from FFX yesterday - arrived today.  With voucher £166.
At this price (£216 even without the voucher) do wonder if there's 'something' around the corner??

Also, slightly against my better judgment, bought a SysRoll.  £89.  Shows how price can influence a purchasing decision  ;D
Have already some thoughts about it, but will air those another time.

Shane.  Thanks for letting us know what Festool UK told you - what, over a week ago now.  Look forward to your becoming the official Festool 'global' problem solver  [big grin] .

I don't think anything is round the corner, its just that the midi is supposed to come with a free cleaning set. I get the impression that a few dealers are selling the cleaning sets separately so that they can do the midi's at better prices. Only a guess ;D

I know.  Seems I keep getting reminded about the cleaning set - then I promptly forget - lol.
Very pleased all the same.
+1 regarding FFX.

Love conspiracy stories joiner.  Will be quite disappointed if nothing round the corner  [big grin]
