Which Australian Members are going to enter Shane's Video Competition.

Yes, the email went out to all forum members. It's hard to say for sure what percentage of members are from Australia since not everyone has their location filled in. Plus, we have a lot of lurkers who don't have accounts. That said, I think about 5-10% of visitors to the site are from Australia. Obviously, the traffic to the site is primarily from the U.S.. The UK is second, Canada third, then Australia, followed by Germay/Netherlands, and so on.

I believe Festool AU is going to try to do something in the coming days to promote the contest here, but it may be too late.

And a time extension perhaps? Although as a general principle, as a former teacher I do not favour extensions as these disadvantage those who stick to deadlines (medical/welfare reasons which do not apply in this situation not withstanding).

Anyway as an entrant perhaps I should  not say any more, least I be accused of influencing the organisers!  [eek]

No extensions. The deadline is firm. It would be unfair to those who entered already to change the rules mid-stream.

Hopefully, we'll just a last minute surge.

Any news from Festool UK on their plans? Second largest region for traffic to the FOG and our local Festool organisation doesn't seem to love us...  [crying]

Were you fed-up with underpowered 110V tools and wanted manly 240V tools for site work instead?  [blink]

YEP! That was exactly the decision I made when I was 6 [wink] [big grin]

Sadly the only site work I do involves a laptop and a lot of talking [sad]

But hey, at least your laptop transformer connects to the manly 240V power  [wink] [tongue]

FAUST have just moved publicity about comp from News To Home section of their website. This certainly makes the competition more obvious to the casual site visiter to generate more interest over the weekend.  [wink]

Garry,

Festool UK would looking to do their own video contest, but I don't have an exact time for it to happen. I got the impression it may be next month.

110v tools are the more manly tools with rugged thicker cables :-)

. . . .  to lug around the work site!  [big grin]

Well I've managed one and have to more uploading to Youtube.. will see how things go tomorrow and if I get the time to post them up here.. I certainly plan to.

They are not what I was planning and the quality filming and editing isn't there but for a first attempt not too bad (i hope)

I've got my Video done and Uploading to Youtube as i Type, Though i have to head of to work so can't post a link just yet.  Will do as soon as i can.

Had an issue with my first upload - the video for some reason doesn't show up in my You Tube Channel or anywhere on my account so i am doing it differently (direct via Youtube upLoad link, instead of via video editing program)  and hopefully this time it works.

Hi, glad you made a video. I had lots of trouble too until I downloaded the UTube Capture App. Its playback is crap, but once the upload is completed, all seems fine on UTube (but never quite the quality of the original).

You have 51/2 hrs to solve this, no pressure!   [eek] [smile]
