Feel like i am constantly asking questions at the moment...

After my last post about a DOmino upgrade i am sort or moving towards adding a DF700 rather than replacing the DF500 with one but as the DF700 is available in 2 kit forms ( domino selections 8mm/10 or 12mm/14mm) i wondered what ones people find them selves using most?

My initial projects will be a workbench followed by a dinning room table and then a garden table. My thinking is the 12/14 set as i can use the DF500 with 8mm dominos and go double duty on anywhere that i would use the longer DF700 8mm or 10mm dominos.

Thanks in advance for the continued advice  [smile]

I also added a 700 rather than replace my 500. I'm very happy with that decision.

I bought both tenon/cutter sets based on the belief that I would use all the tenon sizes over time.

I have used all the tenon sizes, but I use the smaller tenons (8mm-10mm) far more than the giant (12mm - 14mm) tenons. The 10mm seems to be the size I reach for most often.

I keep a spare cutter around for each size tenon. I lost the tip off a cutter drilling into end grain Ipe. Probably a fault in my technique.

For some reason, I bought the Seneca adaptor that allows the use of 500 cutters with the 700. Never used it.

I do use the Seneca shims for 1/2" and 3/4" material a lot. Great accessory!

12/14 for sure, i ditched the 500 and used the seneca adapter. that ON button on the 500 pissed me off after 30 mins of use.

You'll end up getting both .. it's a fact of life [wink]

The 12/14 set would make sense for bench, etc.
