You can't expect any foreign pricing to help you figure out what it might sell for here.  For all anyone knows, Festool might price the entire CMS setup for $499 to tick off Kev.  [big grin]  [poke]

Hey I dont know what Kev moans about Joiners over in Australia earn DOUBLE what we earn! They can afford it!  [tongue]
in all fairness to Kev and all our antipodean brethen my daughter spent a year working in oz  (2011 ) and she said if you compare the cost of living to £ its very expensive so you have to ignore it and just stick to oz money and its not too bad but still far more expensive than uk , she was in melbourne by the way

Rents and property prices are the killers and Sydney is a lot more expensive than Melbourne. Compare food, petrol, price of cars - they're all through the roof compared to Europe.

Oz price for CMS-TS55 is $2100 with Oz and US dollars on parity.

It wouldn't surprise me if the unit (probably less the saw) did sell for $499, with a bundle at just over $1K.

Interesting predictions so far including Shane's.

So far most people seem to expect the world to end and around a quarter of you have positive thoughts about the CMS.  The other quarter are putting a lot of faith in JMB and a few stragglers are still optimistic over the Carvex.  Maybe Festool could kick in a prize for one of the people who guesses correctly?  I think Quebec is ineligible AGAIN.  [big grin]

I have my crystal ball in front of me so I already have
the answer, but I'm not telling.  [tongue]

I just used my ESP powers to take a peek at your crystal ball - looks like we'll be seeing the CMS soon.  [eek]

Quebec refuses to acknowledge the validity of the competition, saying that they're not part of the world anyway ...

I had a vision recently, It was me using the CMS with the router module.

I hope the saw module will be available too.

Sounds like the end is truly near.  If you see Festool cutting prices, that's the final sign - head for the hills!! [wink]

I can guarantee you that the saw module won't be available here and that didn't come from a crystal ball.  [wink]

I know. The router module only.

To bad. The router module looks like a sweet set up, but the ability to change modules is what makes the CMS (to me) the bomb.

I look for versatility when I buy my tools.

Just one module I dont think is worth the price.

But Ill have to check it out when its released.

Think there'll be a few track saw and jig saw modules finding their way across the Atlantic in plain packaging !

Oh you didnt say that did you?

[big grin]

How about a big label saying "Personal items from Germany" ?

Hmm...

The world WILL end at some point (that no man knows... yet...).

That much is certain.

Since JMB yielded his drill (presumably), he beat out that event.

The others are currently unknowns, which may or may not ever happen.

Where to end...

What makes you so sure the others are unknown?? [wink]

It'll go down like this...

CMS North American release (just before...)
End of the world
Carvex re-released
JMB stops making videos on the Ti15

[wink]

Umm, does that mean the FestoolUSA guys will still have to report to work after the end of the world???  Bummer...  [big grin]
