Hey All,

I'm looking to upgrade from my Dewalt 1/2 Sheet Sander (DWE6411) and 5. in Orbital Sander (DWE6421K). There's quite a range of Festool sanders, so I'm looking for a recommendation.

My requirements are:

- An orbital sander, or equivalent for fast removal
- A fine finish sanding
- I don't mind if they are the same sander, or it's two
- Battery, or Battery & Corded
- As this will be my first Festool battery, ideally ones I can use with future drill purchases.

Thanks in advance,

Ben

Well the choices for cordless Sanders in Festool that satisfy your needs are not all that extensive as far as I know. For the random orbital you have the ETSC 125 and for the finish sander you get two to choose from, the RTSC400 (rectangular pad) or the DTSC400 (delta pad).

The cordless sanders don't have battery compatibility with the drills. However, if you want the ability to use the sander with a battery or plugged in, there is a plug in power module for the cordless sanders to use in place of a battery.
For dust, the battery sanders are supplied with a dust bag and you can connect all of them to a vacuum, the bag is optional for most of the AC sanders. You may need to cobble up some sort of adaptor if you want to use a vacuum other than a Festool vac.

Going to assume that your subject is incorrect and your are asking about sanders?

As mentioned there are only 3x cordless-corded hybrid sanders available from Festool currently.
However you mention requirements for finish sanding and rapid removal but in a hybrid format - that doesn't really exist.

All the festool 18v sanders have a 2mm orbit so not really aggressive sanders.
Depending on what you are sanding you could use low grits but it won't be fast like a rotex or ets ec.
Perhaps if you stated what you are sanding people can guide you more?
