Which Festool Floor Nozzle should I get?

I'm looking at purchasing a Festool Cleaning kit once the new models are available for sale in the US and I was wondering the difference between the two Festool Nozzles one kit comes with the Aluminum Industrial Nozzle (452908) and the other comes with the Plastic Multipurpose Floor Nozzle (452907) The difference between the kits is around $40 but when looking at just the nozzles the Aluminum cost $170 while the Plastic is $69.

The main use will be for cleaning saw dust off a cement floor inside my woodshop and I'm wondering if anyone knows the main difference between them in terms of use and function or is difference in price mostly just the plastic vs aluminum?

I cant comment on the steel but I got the complimentary systainer kit with my midi. Its been rock solid even for plastic. No malfunction (ie air inlet on corner of wand OK. We used it for a long time in the house  on a concrete floor (still along way off replacing with floor boards). In Australia you can only buy the steel wand with one attachment  without systainer.

I got the plastic set in the sys1 as a free extra with my ct22 (back in 2003). It has held up well (The floornozzle broke once, and I replaced it with the same one (without the green letters on it) I got with another vac before (probably a makita or hitachi). I did have to replace the round nozzle with the brush a couple of times over the years (worn)

If I had to buy it, I probably would have gone for a set with a 36mm hose. (I ended up getting the non AS and the AS version seperately) With the recent changes I would make sure to get a set with the new  hose.
And if the pricedifference is as low as you say it is I would definately go for the metal version (I read comments about how nice it is on the forum, I doubt anyone would describe the plastic version as such [wink])

I have the metal floor sweep that came with the WorkShop Cleaning Set. It's the nicest floor sweep I've ever had.  [thumbs up]

I have the Universal Cleaning set (36mm) and while I like it I've noticed that dust clings via static to the nozzle so I end up removing the hose to clean the dust off the nozzle when I'm done cleaning.

Does anyone know if the metal set is less prone to this?

I’ve never encountered this with my metal wands or nozzle. I do get static cling when I use plastic attachments.

Model 452908 is adjustable in terms of height above the surface being cleaned and is a whole bunch of sturdier.  It has a wheel on each end for consistent sweep height, unlike the plastic one that just drags on the floor.  I have both and strongly prefer the aluminum one.

On my heavy version the height adjusting knob keeps backing out and rolling under the cabinets. Other than that it’s very good.

I wholeheartedly agreed with [member=7493]Sparktrician[/member]. The cast aluminum head is the widest, and the adjustable height brushes make it effective for smooth concrete, textured matting, and carpet. Used with the D36 hose, I've never had a clog cleaning up chips, dust and plane shavings.

I bought the Metal Version a few years back based on @Corwins experience as he posted about it.  Very nice and rugged set.  It's also the set that I'm most anxious to try the new 36mm Flexible hose on once they get here since stuffing the 36mm AS hose back into the Systainer with all the tubes and nozzles could get much easier with one of those Flex hoses.... I have the metal tubes with the plastic head. It been great although the dust does cling to the head.
