I know this has been raised before so apologies for the repeat. But I have been struggling to get answers in NZ.

I have being researching the MFK700 for some time and I just need some help deciding which one. I spoke to my local rep some time ago  but he couldn't help too much.

They guys I buy through a very helpful but not across all aspects of the tool.

I predominantly want it for edge banding/laminate trimming  but will also use it for general light weight routing. (I have the OF1010 with trimming attachment but I struggle with it)

Do I buy the 700 EQ/B or the 700 EQ? the EQ appears to be slightly cheaper. The EQ/B doesn't come in a set version.

Having decided which version, I need to know which bases  I need.

Unfortunately I can't my hands on one to play with (or see) and we don't have the return policy here so I want to make sure before I pull the trigger.

Thanks

Mate, I too at some stage will be interested in looking at the MFK700. My local dealer on the Shore in Ak here also does not have it on display either.
I believe the B stands for Brake, in this case it would stop the spinning router bit very quickly when powered down. A handy feature which looks like being implemented in all their tools to some degree nowadays although not a deal breaker for this particular tool I'd suggest.
I think Half-inch-shy (Paul Marcel) has a video which mentions the difference between the bases for the MFK and accessories. Have a hunt on you-tube he has some great videos, very informative.

Purchase the 700 EQ set. This will be the most versatile of the 700's. At a later dated you can purchase the B base and 0º base if you feel the need for them.

Wish I could purchase just the motors, I have all the bases, would be nice to set up bits and just swap bases.
