Which power tool should I buy next?

I'm referencing the Right Angles M12, so the battery really doesn't come into play - unless you're tight in TWO directions?

With that in mind, it sounds like they match almost exactly from tip of chuck to back of right angle.

I know you can say this about many Festool products, but I would NEVER part with my CXS.  Even after getting a T18 I still find myself reaching for the CXS most of the time.

Gerald

I just measured mine.  With a short phillips bit stuck in the right angle chuck it is about 3 inches.  This is with the bit stuck in the right angle attachment itself and not using the centrotec chuck.  If the handle doesn't have to go into the opening then it is about 2 3/4 inches.

That drill is so nice to work with.  It weighs less than 2 lbs.

Why would you consider the DTS400 when you already have the delta pad on your RO90?  I would do the CXS or RTS400

OK, so did you get the Centrotec Installer set  ahead of the need to be sure you could get one?

From your list I guess the CXS. But if I were going to get another sander to complement the ones you already have it would be the ETS150/3. Maybe wait a bit longer and add a little more to the fund?

EDIT> unless you are planning to sand inside cabinets.  [wink]

+1 for an ETS150/3.

I've got the Ro90, Ro150 and an ETS150/3 and its a great package.

If your happy with the M12 kit, go the sander route.

Get thew CXS Kit I find that this little "engine that could" is really valuable in the shop and in home repairs.  Since you already have the Installers kit you'll find that working with the CXS helps the project go much smoother.

You will not regret getting a CXS, it really is as good as everybody says, one of festool finest.

A side note on the M12 right angle drill, industrial suppliers sell double ended drills that are typically less than 1 1/2".  These are great for drilling in tight spaces.  I used these for years to attach automatic door operators to door headers.  The short drills and self drilling taps were great time savers.

WoW...i'm sure you know about the 30 day period.  Get the cxs and if it's not all you hoped for.....

it is time to buy CXS. you'll be happy with this toy in his hands.
have a nice day.

[wink]

+1 for DTS400

I basically have the same sanders as you and I use Bosch 12v and 18v drills.  I'm happy with them.  I think the value proposition of Festool sanders exceeds that of their drills.  JMO.

Thanks a lot, Seth - that my decision SOOO MUCH easier... [/sarcasm]
[big grin]

I've been thinking about this for myself and it came up sander.
Why?
Sanding is a lot more work than drilling and driving.  There are also a lot of nuances with sanding so it's nice to have a variety of them.

I bought a cxs last week and returned the day after I bought it. Yeah it was alright but honestly it's the only festool I have ever returned it just didn't stand out in my opinion beides from the right angle chuck. Unless you are in 1st gear you can't sink a screw head into particle board cabinet back. Don't think I could ever give up a impactor for a drill again.

+1 on the ETS150/3. I have that as well as the RO90 and RO150. Great combination of sanders.  Sorry mucking up your decision process.

Apart from the CXS (which I previously recommended) because you have an alternative type of tool that you are happy with, I recommend an ETS150/3. I have one of these as well as an RO90 and RO150 and feel that it is much nicer to use than the RO150 if you want a less aggressive smaller orbit sanding action. It can also use your existing sanding discs (the paper not the pads sadly)

WOW it's time to get off line and get some sleep to help your recovery.  [smile]

And because it is now obvious you will be buying both a CXS and ETS150/3!  [big grin]
