Hi

I'm looking into a new Palm type sander to replace my old non Festool

I will be using it to finish side tables etc made of hardwood with angled finishes that the rotex cannot get to due to right angles

It will be used mainly for fine finish and I I would rather go for one that has more than one application.

So far I have seen the following:

Rutscher rs 300
Rutscher rts 400
Delta Dts 400

Any advice would be grateful

Thanks

Adrian

I have a couple of months DTS 400 As several people mentioned by the forum needs to initial run is a bit crude, but with next run I'm satisfied. Some sees in this model a disadvantage because of the impossibility of rotation sandpaper, but for me it is the shape of washers ingenious balance of ergonomics and size.
I wish you a successful choice.

Hi
Thanks for the information

What do you mean by initial run being crude, do you mean the startup beinhg rough

Thanks

Adrian

I've been using the Festool rts400 for a couple of months, for finishing.
I have to say it is truly superb, the finish it produces is excellent and when coupled with my
festool vac there is no visible dust, literally.
It is light and extremely easy to use, I can't imagine a comparable sander from any manufacturer doing a more convincing job.

In my opinion, there is none better than the DTS400 for fine finishing with corners. (fine)
It does not however really meet your criteria for multi function. For that, maybe the RO90 with delta pad. (course/fine)
Fine sanding on larger flat surfaces, the ETS 150/3. (fine)
150/5 (fine. a little courser...5mm stroke vs 3mm)
RO150 (fine/course/hog)
