Hey guys - we had a break in and have lost a few tools (luckily not all as we had a load on site) - who is currently the go to supplier of festool in the UK?

Hi sorry to hear that, I use D&M tools a great lot of guys and girls
and they hold a lot of festool in stock, not to bad on price.

Another vote for D&M. They often price match if not initially the cheapest. Fast delivery to Scotland (not sure where you are located) and it's free so you don't get clobbered like many of the other retailers do with shipping.

Powerful Supplies (aka Nuts & Bolts) http://www.powertool-supplies.co.uk or
Axminster http://www.axminster.co.uk

Axminster will price match if pushed, but I feel folks who price match are really saying "We'll gouge you if we can, but if you catch us out we still want a crack at your business".

Of course there are many other factors, such as if they actually hold stock of the item you want, and back up support, and in this respect Axminster are good.

Both have physical shops, and are not just internet resellers.  The others mentioned in other posts probably have shops too; I've just only visited these two.

I have a good friend who speaks highly of D&M but I've not been there or used them for anything Festool.

Anyone dealt with Toucan?

they have a lot of festools in stock, most I've seen, not sure of the pricing?

ive got loads from axminster since they opened up near me in tyne & wear. before then i was using n&b but axminster have price matched to them give or take a penny here or there.

My opinion

Nuts and bolts seem to have a good stock of everything I've tried to order

Most of the stuff I've bought has been cross ordered from them by my usuall supplier

But FFX seem to be the cheapest online

But watch out for SLINGERS I've picked up a few bargians from them as they have good offers now and then

I tend to go to my local guy as much as possible he comes and goes with prices. I figure I should at least give him a shot at it. I also like the principle of supporting local business given that I am one.

There's a new place in Guildford.

ROFL  [big grin]

They must be somewhat regretting their introduction to the FOG by now...

Topic got deleted......

I realise that brining up a deleted thread is probably bad form? But after looking at the cached original post, can I ask what the problem/reason for deletion was?

I suspect it was the uncorroborated reference to the Festool representative telling them to do it...

Personally I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. They made a mistake, but they were big enough to own up to it and confess in public to their transgression. Hopefully they'll now proactively contribute to the FOG and redeem themselves. Then I might just forgive them...  [wink]

Now the page is down, I only saw the initial post in google's cache. I guess there was more to the thread . .
thanks.
