My actual laser project tonight was to label the backs of drawers before assembling them. The cabinet is a multi-tiered drawer/shelf unit that will be gloss black, so knowing where a drawer should go might be tricky. The tiers use pipes between them of various lengths that need to go in certain places (this facilitates assembly alone); the first drawer's back includes a diagram for where they go and how to easily sort them.

A Glowforge. While it works well, I think there are much more capable lasers for not a lot more. These days, probably for less.
