Now that the festool connect is over with does anybody want to go for dinner or drinks? We are staying the night again and want to meet up with fellow foggers. There are a few of us together. Let us know.

Not sure how close you are to Abuelos on 86th street but I am there now.

Looking to see if anyone else might be coming!!

PM me if you have interest!

Cheers. Bryan.

I believe Peter mentioned trying for Abuelos or the Montana grill earlier in this thread.  He also mentioned later might be better. (Although I am sorta hungry now.)

I spoke to Peter right near the end of the event. He said Abuelos around 8pm.

Festool, as usual, was a great host and pulled off a great event for their customers. It was great to connect with many, many customers and FOG folks. The demos were good, the food was good, etc. I missed seeing Tom Silva when it was on stage, but I had seen him at a previous Connect, so I'm sure that was an entertaining part of the day. The line for reconditioned tools was crazy all day long, right up to the end.

Hope to potentially catch up with some of you more later this evening.

I concur Shane!  Great event and the fact that they gave everyone a free HKC was even better!!  (Kidding all)

Hope to get to more events in the future.

Cheers. Bryan.

I was there.. It was a really interesting and good time.  Toured the headquarters, looked and listened into some new tools. Went on the Roadshow truck.  Even bought a CT mini vacuum.  If they have it again in Indiana, I will definitely be there!!

I liked the event. It was nice to meet some people and handle some of the new tools. I like the HK saws! That hand held cnc was cool too!

Thanks to Festool for putting together a nice day.  Program was well done, demos were eye-opening (and likely wallet-opening with some of the new tools.  Happy to get hands on with the Shaper as a game changer for hand-held routing coming out in a year even though it's not a Festool product.

Recon sale was a great surprise and it was a nice touch to be able to pick up tools at the show with a broad selection available even with the long lines.

Meeting fellow Foggers, the food, music, the tour, the amazing new facility, and even the Lederhosen were fun.  Especially enjoyed seeing Christian back in the USA sharing stories on the origins of Festool and how it's evolved.  He was rightfully proud admiring where his vision has taken Festool the brand and it's customers.

Finally, Tom Silva was a real treat.  What a terrific guy with some great stories to match his talent.

Thanks!

Just wanted to say Thanks to Festool for putting on this Awesome Event, hope to be there next year if there is another.

Great food!, Great guests! , Tool sale!, Lots of demo stations. Plenty of time to check everything  out.  Chance to meet and talk with lots of people in person!  Lots of fun hanging out at restaurants after as well!

Great event!

[thumbs up]

Seth

I had great time, and it was nice to get see some old friends again.  See you  guys next year's connect.

Thank you---Festool.

Was a great event.

Thanks to all of those I got to spend some time with. It was very nice to meet some new friends and reconnect with some old ones.

Tom

I had a great time meeting everyone yesterday!  What a well put together event and NeilC eloquently described all the surroundings of yesterday.

A big thanks to Festool for making it happen!!!

I look forward to seeing all at future events!

Kurt

I would echo what others have said about this Connect event, kudos and thanks to  Fesool for making this happen. It takes a lot of planning and hard work - on Friday the inside of the warehouse was the (as always) the packing and shipping area, by Saturday, staff had it set up for tool demos an seating for the 600+ attendees. Other than not being able to hear the lectures from the side seating areas (minor issue) the event was as good as it gets.
The tool presenters worked tirelessly to show those tools and answer everybody's questions, the German food was tasty, that portable shaper was amazing and I'm betting will be a huge seller. I was glad Christian O - Festool USA's first CEO and guiding spirit was there and had a chance to spend a few moments with him. Also impressive was getting a chance to meet Tom Siva upstairs in the conference room, shoot the woodworking breeze  and see and touch those two 12' long ~3' wide ~ 2" thick sycamore tables with thick walnut bases that some of the Festool guys along with Norm and Tom built and finished recently.
But I'm going to go out on a limb and say the thing that is most memorable and most impressive to me, besides all of the above mentioned items, is the downright decency and friendliness of the attendees. I only met a tiny percentage but it I'm sure they are representative of the larger group.
Well done all. God willing, see you next year.

I had a great time at Festool Connect 2016!  Just reset my forum password and I have a goal to get active on here again.  Going to connect reminded me that other guys out there are doing the same work, having the same issues and finding out great tips. Everyone at connect has something in common, they are guys who appreciate the craft and are accomplished in what they do. Expect to see more of me out here.  I had dinner with Seth and Peter in a large group and could not for the life of me figure out where we had met before!  I realized later it was seeing their faces out here on the forum! Had a great time!
