Why again are Plug-It 110v convos NAINA?!

I'm months in on my festool addiction and I've grown mega fond of having only one cord and don't mind at all switching as needed.  What I'm getting tired of is the non-festool cords everywhere else.  I badly want a dozen of the Plug-It  conversions to standardize.  Why is it we can't get them again?!

Anyone have some state-side they'd let go of?  Or in their way here with extra luggage space?!  (Sigh)

While I was living part-time in Germany, I tried to order a bunch of 110V pigtails through my Festool Dealer there, along with a number of other NAINA items.  Festool HQ called my dealer and told them that due to potential liability issues, they could not honor my order, knowing that they would be headed to NA.

Clearly, Festool is concerned about poor modifications that might result in "accidents" for which they might be included in liability claims.  Sigh.....

Cheers,

Frank

Are non-NA's less prone to getting two wires backward or not lawsuit happy?  The latter I get. Legal action is the American way.  Wish I could waive my right to sue in the name of optimization.

The internals for some of the electrical parts like motors are different because of the higher voltage in the UK or the power frequency. Europe is 50 hertz while the US is 60 hertz. The frequency can affect the speed of the motors.

Ancient US and UK laws need to be brought up to date with the modern technology that exists in todays electricity distribution. 110V is ancient technology and 230V is better, but there are millions of people employed within health and safety so they are protecting their unnecessary rolls in life.

Just ask yourself why the rest of the world ignores this ancient technology.

Right, but that wouldn't have any effect on the power cord or vice-versa as long as it was adequate for the load.

Just go with the  powerCON True1 from Neutrik.

I love the look of those Neutrik connectors. I believe I saw somewhere where someone modified their MT-55cc with the powerCon True1 where the adapter is built into the saw, rather than being a pigtail. Have you considered this as an option?

Hi Tom!  I find the pigtail to work really well.  I looked at doing that mod that I found from somewhere, from someone but I didn't want to modify the tool.

This is fully reversible.  Even on my new MT-55cc and KSS400.  I may have done those tonight...

Some people companies have a lot of money and resources invested in the old technology. The rest of the world is buying new.

Just think how your tools would work and how much electricity would cost if we were using DC electricity like Thomas Edison envisioned because he claimed it was safer.

It is much cheaper and cleaner to run cars on hydrogen but we do not see a lot of cars being powered by hydrogen fuel cells. Ever see a hydrogen fueling station?
