I just noticed the old ATF55 had a "parallel stop" that goes on the end of the guide rail to guarantee a nice perpendicular cut with the guide rail. How come this is discontinued on the current product lines? (and not offered as an accessory?)

Don’t worry about this accessory. Once you have TS saw with rail you don’t have use this accessory very often (ever?). You are paying prime price and you are getting the prime tool.
