I thought I posted this yesterday, but unless I am missing something i just can't locate it.  So I recently got the Centrotec Bit Assortment Kit, so why the need for two chucks?  Seems silly to me.  Anyone know the reason?  Is it like a spare square one can share? (Seinfeld) I mean, I see the whole extra drill bits and tips as they wear out over time, but I don't see the chuck wearing out.

Just curious int he logic, nothing more.

Thanks

Scott you must be losing your mind, you never posted this before. ???

You posted it in the classified ad section. Ooops! ???

You are fine, Scott.  You did post this question a day or two ago.  I remember one answer was something to do with crews that have more than one drill using the kit.  Where did it go???

OIC - Brice found it in Classifieds.

Have another beer, Scott!

Scott,
The centrotec chuck is quicker to remove than the bit is from the chuck, having the two extras gives you the option to add your most used bits in the chucks "locked and loaded". The chuck is far more visible than the bit by itself, by way of size and color. Give it a go, you will see its superior to changing the bits.
I own three Festool drills, on occasion whilst using only one drill, I will have 4-5 chucks on stand-by awaiting deployment...its an absolute dream.

I'll have to get more chucks so I can start dreaming too  :).  Just don't do it whilst shaping a big radiused crown moulding.

I had to order 2 extras just because they are so small and easy to misplace!!!! Hey, I can loose anything in my shop for at least 1 week of searching.
