Why you want a Domino with round pins

Festool is changing from the round plunging locating pins to pivoting nylon tabs for legal reasons. I didn't think that was a big deal till I noticed these spacer diskss that are being offered on ebay.

Festool has something designed to solve the same problem but these potentially offer more precision, although in fixed imperial increments.

I haven't used this tool yet, so I'm not sure I follow.

Would someone please elaborate?

Thanks,
Erik

The retracting pins on the face of the Domino hook the edge of a board exactly 37mm from center of the mortise. The spacers allow you to (easily) cut mortises closer to the edge. That's the short version.
