It has always facinated me why people "log on" but never start, reply or comment on threads???

Why log on just to lurk ??? (i hate that term :-[)

I often look at "whos on line" and their are heaps, but they remain inactive.  ???

Maybe its just me and i love to yak about things and be active, but i wish everyone who logs on/in would at least say "hi" or a "well done" or "good idea" or "My girlfriend is gorgeous" or "I have this idea" or "how dose that work" or "what if you done it this way" or Blah, blah, bla.

Get active Festoolians and stop hanging around in the shadows.  Stop lurking and start being active, even if its just to say G`day ;D

Rant --- Over :-*

Okay, I have this idea... I'm going to have an Italian hoagie for lunch. How's that???  ;D

I don't see any of the pictures if I'm not logged on.

I'm new and I know nothing.  Just sponging up knowledge.  Might ask something later today though.

Italian hoagie sounds good, all I have is peanut butter and jelly.  It's like I'm a fourth grader.

Teez, Well here in the states if you make a stupid comment on a forum and you have only a few posts you can get laughed at or ridiculed. Its just the way we work here. So for most guys they hang out for a good while learn what they can then start posting. A lot of times people only want to hear from the experienced not the newbie. Some forums if you don't do it like a experience guy does it then you don't know what you are doing. I understand we were all newbies once and heck I learn new things everyday and I have been around wood all my life...

cparson, Welcome and watch out for that Teezer guy, he will start talking in strange words, but he is a good guy  ;D...

She`l be right ;) By jingoes their will be no argy bargy on my behalf here.
I kid you not, most of you blokes (except for the odd galah) are bloody good blokes and strangely enough not to many handbags here.

Most of you seem to be larrikins who id love to sink a half dozen pots with.  Struth, id even let some of you touch my Domino, but i wouldnt let you in a bulls roar ov the missus.

She`s not a bad chic, and makes a mean lamington and pavlova, but is a bit of a rat bag. But boy can she sink some pi$$ :) But Ahhhhh  ::) she packs a wollop when she been on the turps, so i have to be carefull not to give her any agro.

Well im gettin off the beaten track here and feeling a bit peckish. Good that the old girl has just woken up so now she can make me a toasted sanga. If she dosnt it will be on for young and old, like it was last night when she forgot to wash my daks and it made me late to get to the trots as i had a dead set cert on the 5th at Ballarat, but it ended up a real dud and it was a waste of a redback.

Half the nags their should have been runnin at the back of Bourke as they were as useless as titts on a bull.

Anyway Teds on the Ball apart from the "talkin in strange words" but i have to go as i have a bad case of the trotts and need to get to the dunny.... Tooda loo ;)

It's not that I have anything against posting messages, I just don't have much to contribute at this time since its been 30 yrs since I've done any amount of woodworking, plus I've just started down the slippery Festool slope.

Fred

Fred, You know the saying its never to late to get restarted.

Teez, Man I need to break out my oz dictionary ;D...

I "check in" ince or twice a day.

To be honest, I am here more to read what others post and absorb info. If I feel I can add something to the thread I will but their is nothing worse then reading three pages of thread with no useful info or people simply agreeing or disagreeing.

I used to post lots on the handtool forums and quit simply because it became very confrontational.

Guess I am now semi-retired from forums

Hey, I've been wondering how to get people more involved as well (click here).
I'd love it if we could break this open and get more people to post, ask questions, comment, and more.

When I was in college, I remember meeting a couple of Australian women...
