Who's going to be there? Maybe we can all get together and share some ideas/tips? I'll likely be there all of Friday, Oct. 12th. Reply to this thread so we can start an ad-hoc FOG meetup if you're interested.

Here's a link for those scratching their head and unsure what I'm talking about: http://www.woodworkinginamerica.com

I'll be there Friday through Sunday.
BTW, any good tool stores to check out in the area?

I'll be there Thursday through possibly the Thursday after WIA.  I'm doing demos with the Bridge City guys of the Jointmaker Pro, HP6v2 multi-plane, DJ-1 and DJ-2 drilling jigs and whatever other toys we can talk them into bringing.

Jesse, go visit Eagle Tools.  They have a huge and very complete Festool offering, stacks of Agazzani bandsaws, Inca machinery... it's a toy shop

I'm in the area, so I'll be around every day. Anyone from the FOG automatically qualifies for a beverage of their choice, my treat (this ain't Kentucky, but we still have good whiskey  [smile]).

Paul-Marcel, I'm really looking forward to our evening at the Gamble House.

Jesse, be sure to set some aside some time for hanging out! Maybe a visit to my shop?

Wonderwino, don't forget about lunch in Malibu.

Who else will be there?

John,

It sounds like a great time in the making.  Would love to one day see your shop.  I am sure everyone here would like to also.

Hope you guys have a great time.

Peter

Schedules did not work for me for WIA West but I do plan to be in Cinci in November.

Neil, I'm very disappointed that you won't be here, we had a great time last year. I'm thinking that next year I'll head back east again.

I m planning to be there on Saturday.

John, I live in Simi Valley - Is your shop in SFV, would love to come over and visit sometime if you are OK.

My shop is in Chatsworth. It has been "in progress" for far too long, but I will finish it soon, hopefully in 2012. I have acquired just about all the tools and equipment I need, so all I have to do get everything in place ... and wired up.

Anyone visiting now will be mostly seeing the "before", and will be welcome to also come and see the "after". And of course any and all suggestions are always appreciated.

Danny and Hobbes, let's exchange cell numbers by PM. I'd love to meet you guys at the conference.

Well, WIA is finally here and I had a blast being there. It's nice I got to meet John R., Paul M., and Chris W. in person. The day seemed to come and go like a blur.

I attended a few great classes by Gary Rogowski and Yeung Chan. I also saw a lot of drool-worthy tools at the exhibition hall (here's looking at your Festool, Lee Valley/Veritas, Bridge City, Woodpecker, Lie-Nielson, among several others). I did get to pick up the saddle t-square from Woodpecker that I procrastinated on when they had their last run. If anyone is interested they still have a few of them left, hit someone up who's already there and maybe they'll be nice enough to pick it up on your behalf. Unfortunately for me, I can only attend for today. :(

Anyhow, a great event if you can make it and it runs through this weekend...ending around Sunday noonish. You might luck out and pick up some great tools at a discount when the vendors are closing shop! :)

I had a great time demonstrating all the tools and visiting with friends old & new at the Bridge City booth.  The lunch with Joraft (R) was a great finale.

Alex,  we managed to stretch a three day event into six days, and it was great fun.

The trip to Eagle Tools on Monday with Jesse Cloud was fun as well as very informative (albeit expensive  [smile]).  Eagle Tools is arguably the best and most well stocked Festool dealer in California.

The owner, Jesse Barragan gave us one of his famous thorough tours of the Agazzani bandsaw:
