Will a Milwaukee 3.5hp router fit onto the CMS VL Table

I am looking to put a more powerful router into my CMS VL for raising panels and was looking at the Milwaukee 5625-20 3.5HP router.  Will that install in the CMS VL table?  I would not plug it into the table's on/off switch, just use its own switch.  I am building a Ron Paulk workbench, so I am debating whether or not to use the Milwaukee with a Woodpecker plate in the workbench or the CMS VL to turn large panel raising bits.  Thanks.

I don't know, but personally I wouldn't do it.

I'd guess that even if the base sat within the clamping arrangement, the height adjustment would probably not line up and require customisation.

I have the benefit of not being in the US and can therefore install the OF2200 ... shame about the NA regs.

Anything can be done. The best bet would be the work bench with the router plate.  I would suggest a Triton TRA001 router. It has an above table crank included with it. Or you could just get an OF 2200. Once you get a router and plate for the work bench, you will need to invest in a decent fence.

I can 100% confirm the Triton 3-1/4 hp router fits perfectly in the CMS insert... AND the Festool above-the-table crank works on the Triton!  [eek]

Honestly, the Triton is just as good as the OF2200 in the CMS- dust collection included!  And it's $600 cheaper.  Takes 5 min to rotate the router around in the CMS insert to figure out the correct alignment.  Ink up the router base & CMS insert with a marker so it's a quick task to insert the router again in the correct position.

I own a Milwaukee 5625 and it's a beast. I'd start by comparing the weight of a 2200 (if Festool recommends that for fitting into a CMS insert) to the 5625, because I'd worry about any insert sag. I'll state up front that I have no experience with the CMS insert and have never seen one in person, I just know how heavy the 5625 is.

Thinking about it further, I'd probably consider putting the 5625 in a Woodpeckers router lift instead, because any adjustments to the 5625 in the CMS would probably have to be done from the under side and that's a PITA. I have the 5625 in a cheap Porter Cable router table and everything is adjusted from below...not good.

Forgive my ignorance between Europe and US regulations.  Why exactly don't they allow the OF 2200 as an option for the CMS table?  Seems quite ridiculous.  The power of the 2200 is needed for heavy duty routing.

The CMS power switch is not rated for the draw of the OF 2200.

I took my US CMS and 2200 to the UK with me mounted my 2200 in it, 2 years ago.

I use it quite frequently even daily sometimes.

Never had a problem.

Even though I use a 3Kv tranny to power it as my tools are 110V.

i hog out a lot of wood with it.  No issues.
