A friend is loaning me a Festool and I will be traveling with it and don't want to damage the systainer.  I have a couple of spare classics and was wondering if a T-Loc insert will fit into a classic without modifying.

Some will, some won't. Unfortunately, I don't have a list of which will though, Peter. If you tell us which tool, maybe one of the forum members will know for sure.

Hi!

I don't have a T-15 but there seem to be two kinds of inserts. For example: the OF-1010 in a t-loc won't fit into a classic but a RO-90 t-loc will fit in a classic. The difference is that some t-loc inserts got the widest part (the flat part of the insert) at the top (OF1010),then it won't fit in a classic. But if the flat part is at the bottom it will fit (RO-90).

Difference between t-loc and classic inserts, the corner got a void for the side latches. That void is there also on my RO90
insert.

I found a picture of the T 15 in a classic and if your friend got the same insert I would think it will fit in a classic.

Couldn't you just pull something out of one of your T-Locs, and put friend's tool in that T-Loc temporarily?
Or maybe you travelling with all your tools?.... that just occurred to me.

Sometimes the obvious... [doh] [doh] [doh] [doh] [doh] [doh]  I only have two T-Locs but my guess is that one would work.  My friend read this thread and told me not to worry anyway.  I will worry.

On a related note, I also discovered that unfortunately the inserts for the t-loc sys 1 (such as the one that holds the plastic containers) do not fit in other t-loc sizes.  Don't know why this would be...I thought all t-locs were identical except for height, but it appears they are not.
