Will Festool ever sell "bare" tools

Is there anything in the works to sell a carvex with no batties/no charger? Or a T12/T15/T18 with no batteries/no charger?

I am looking to get a cordless Carvex, and probably a T18 when they are available, but I don't think I will need 4 batteries, and 2 chargers. It would be nice if festool would sell "bare" versions of the tools.

In Europe Festool will be selling a combo of a 18V PSC-400 Carvex and T 18+3.
Together with only 2 batteries, 1 charger in a SYS 3-T-Loc.
The total cost of it will be 720 euros excl. FAT (±720 USD).

May be this combo package will be available in the USA as soon as the Carvex and T18 will be available.

In my Swedish '10/'11 catalog the "bare minimum" 18v Carvex PSBC 400 is available w/: 2 sawblades, one battery, in a SYS 3 T-Loc for 3,405 SEK

Jeff,

I don't have any definitive information to share, but we are considering doing what you're proposing. Also, possibly a combo kit with a drill/jigsaw/battery(ies)/charger. I'm sure as we get closer to the launch of the cordless models in the fall, we'll have more information on the various offerings.

Thanks,
Shane

In Europe they don't sell a bare version either. I don't understand why not because all other tool brands do this too.

If I could get a Carvex 'body only' then I would get it since I already have the batteries and charger for the T15 and I don't care about the systainer. But with the way the Carvex is offered now, I'm not even gonna bother at all.

Great idea on the T18 and Carvex combo's just like some of the other power tool brand's combo kits!!!!

I would be in the market for this ;D

:o  I like the idea of a combo kit...although I will probably just buy the corded Carvex upon release and be all set with that...unless info is unveiled by then!!!  [poke]

hmm, i see that both these tools cost around €1400 together. sound too good to be true to basically get one for free.
but if it's true then i may jump on it, though i would much rather have the corded version of the carvex to connect it to the vac.

The price I mentioned in my post was excl. 19% FAT/BTW. I just changed it.
Attached is the "Frühjahr 2011" folder of Festool Germany where under number 04 you can see the offer.

I'd be all over a TS 55 without rail and box, as it is there's too much in the price I don't want or need, which is pushing what I actually do need (the tool itself) out of reach. I think plain cardboarded bare tools would be an awesome way to go. Festool stuff has way too much duplication in their retail packages.

I would buy most festool tools without a sustainer if they were sold that way.

My tools rarely leave the shop, and I prefer putting all my tools in cabinet drawers.
