will the mft 3 parts fit the old mfts?

I know a lot of people complained about the angle unit being hard to keep accurate although I havent used mine yet (still saving up for the 55).

Now that festool have improved on the angle unit with the mft3, I was wondering if that set up will fit on the old 1080?

The angle unit for the MFT/3 attached via a V-groove profile instead of the old T-groove.  So, the new angle unit is not backwards compatible with the 1080.

In the stock configuration they of course are totally different as many posts here have discussed.

I am sure within a week there will be many ways shown how to make a jig or adapter to make it work together. The guys here are going to come up with something. I personally will for sure.

I am keeping my old setup and will get one new MFT/3 and after a little experimentation I will get that new fence to work on the old table, one way or another.
