will this saw blade work on a Festool TS55 REQ  I can't seem to find out any info

Festool 439686 Saw Blade Special - ATF 55

In the future how does one figure out which saw blades will work on the TS55 REQ      ?        ?
Is there a compatibility chart anywhere    ?  ?
I have a new TS55 REQ coming & am figuring out which blades I need

another NooB question if you had 3 blades to buy to augment the stock  TS55 REQ blade what would they be    ?  ?

I guess I'm getting  "All Jazzed" about my coming New Saw .

The saw is going to make my life Much easier building my speaker cabinets

Slappy,

Any blades that fit the original TS-55 will fit the new TS-55R.

For future reference, the newer blades all have a standardized 2.2mm kerf to reduce the need for unnecessary splinter guard replacement.

Be sure to check the stock at your preferred dealer to be sure you are not buying old stock.

I believe the 439686 will fit, but if you are buying new, why not just get the 496307 blade.  They are both for aluminum/plastics.

Ken

Just noticed the other question, if you want 3 blades to work with, i would get the Fine, Standard, and Universal blades.

They will cover all your wood cutting needs.

the linked fine blade  above ,
so the TS55 REQ comes with the fine already as the stock blade  right ?
I'm gonna be ripping log cuts of 1/2" . 3/4" ply that need a glue ready surface , some will have a bevel .
can someone break down which blade is best for what ?
I don't want to buy a blade that I'm not gonna need right at 1st
I'm kinda confused  on which works with which , I know the smaller tooth counts are needed for ripping lumber
what is this "panther" blade that been talked about on other threads ?

I will explain the blades as best I can, but I'm not a blade expert, so please excuse any inaccuracies.

The standard and panther blades can be rolled together.  They have very similar properties, but the standard blade keeps the 2.2mm kerf design.  They are great for ripping stock, rough cutting, breaking down sheet good, etc.  The Panther is slightly more aggressive than the standard.

The Universal blade is a general purpose blade for cross cutting and ripping.  This will provide glue ready joints.

The Fine Tooth blade is going to give the best finish, but requires a slow feed rate, and can gunk up when cutting sheet goods like MDF and OSB.

The solid surface/laminate blade is fairly self explanatory.

As is the Aluminum/plastics blade.  The negative hook angle prevents gumming when cutting plastics, and allows smooth cutting of aluminum.  I also recommend this blade when cutting hard materials.  The triple chip grind is more resistant to rapid degradation, chipping, and dulling.

At the risk of being yelled at, I want to mention the blades made by our friends up the road.  Forrest blades are of superb quality, and made right here in NJ.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

For lots of ripping, I would recomend the Standard blade over the Fine blade.  This will give a good glue ready surface.  If you need cut lines that look like they just came through the jointer the universal blade will give you that, at the compromise of a lower feed rate.

ThanX Ken , the Festool site doesn't break it down very Well like you did
