I had a request for this bamboo cabinet colored this red color.  Wine fridge "cover" with cabinet and shelving.  Multicolor changing led light with "floating" glass shelves.  I had to make a color hot pink and then down shade it with black to make the neon yellow bamboo red.

With much thanks to you Tom!  Your finishing pointers are what saved me.  I almost killed myself on this project.  That is the very first project I have even attempted using dyes, KA+, and an hvlp sprayer.  3 completely foreign processes to me prior to this project.  Hopefully that is the last request for bamboo material!  That was a new material to me as well.  The tiny little shards/splinters are a real pain in the everywhere!!  I'm still fishing them out 2 weeks post finishing.    I cut and did all joinery without glue up, finished everything as a flat panel and then assembled (thank you festool and that wonderful domino) I've built cabinets and closets and the like before, but never more than wipe on stain and brush on poly top coat.  I noticed with the flash on the camera there seem to be "swirls or circles" that I cannot detect with any amount of raking light or sunlight.  Is that something i can work to omit?  Maybe it's not even an issue??  Regardless, the interior designer has already hired me for several built ins and some bedroom furniture!  Yay, my cabinetry business has started.  Of course I still have to stick my hand in the occasional toilet, crawl in those awful blown in insulated attics and walk a roof from time to time, but less is always welcome. [big grin]

Other than using a Rotex, for me a quick hand sanding removes those swirls.

Did you sand between coats with the ETS?

Congratulations! Nice to hear.

I did sand between coats with ets 150/5 with 320grit.  The circles are only visible with the camera flash.  I wonder if it's the flash reflection or actually a finishing flaw?

Technically it's a flaw.
Because I rush the sanding when using the ETS, I have never been happy with the swirls that the ETS produces in stain grade work, or show through when using darker lacquers so I stay away from it between coats.
While I dislike sanding, hand sanding allows me to feel and correct minor imperfections and flaws that I just can't achieve with a machine. It really doesn't take any more time and I am guaranteed no swirls.
In the end it's up to you to decide if swirls are a major issue or not.
Personally I don't like to see them, but many customers don't or can't see the stuff we see.
