I'm refinishing a rusty swinging porch chair frame and the Vermont American brush that I'm using pretty much self destructed flining more wire into me that taking off the rust. Any recommends on a better quality brush? I'm not hitting edges but simply skimming a 1" tube to remove the rust but this thing is pretty pathetic. Dewalt, Bosch any better?

If not, I'm just gonna get the Rotex out and grind away with some 60 grit.

Thanks for any advice.

Here in Canada we have a store called Princess Auto very similar to Harbor Freight in the USA.

My friend stripped the paint/rust off his trucks frame without this wire brush falling apart: http://www.princessauto.com/pal/Wire-And-Nylon-Brushes/3-in-Stainless-Steel-Twisted-Wire-Wheel-Brush/3410646.p

I also use their gold coloured wire brushes for removing paint from metal cabinets/bays/support structures for grounding and they work great. I don't trust stuff from Vermont American, I bought some screwdriver bits from them because they had a cool bronze colour and phillips anti-camout rims and they proved to be junky. They definitely couldn't handle the torque of a cordless drill.

I bet that doesn't help you at all since you're not Canadian. Maybe try Harbor Freight? :)

Thanks everyone. I got the Dewalt High Performace brush and its worked great and I don't end up like a porcupine at the end of the day!
