FedEx delivered my package today but as I picked up the 3'+ long box the contents came sliding out the other end with no tape popped open! The straight edge was loose from its hard case because the sliding keeper was loose as the screw's threads are stripped. No damaged areas on the box at all so I don't know how the screw threads got stripped.

Luckily the box was positioned with the straight edge on top or it could have hit the concrete or worse yet the four bricks high wall above the concrete surface!  Dumb luck had it was windy, I was holding on to my storm door with one hand or I might have spun around and it could have been much worse. [scared]

There doesn't appear to be any damage on the straight edge itself that I can see right now but who knows when/where else it came sliding out while in route.

I received mine a month or so ago and it was ratteling in the tube I was worried.  When I opened it the clear plastic piece that holds it down was loose causing it to fall out. No damage as seen by the eye. But this could easily be cured by wraping the thing two or 4 times around with some shrink wrap.

Hi folks,

My name is Justin Killebrew, I work for Woodpeckers Inc.  In response to the straight edge packaging issue, sorry to hear about that.  We try to make sure that these are secured within the MDF case, but it sounds like we screwed up on yours.  I'll make sure to let our assembly/packing department know about this.  Let me know if there is anything you need.  If you need a new case, I'd be happy to send that to you.  Feel free to email me at justink@woodpeck.com and let me know where to send it.  Thanks.

Mine was shipped in the Woodpecker box, decals and all.  A bit of tape would have solved the box issue.

In all fairness, it wasn't ordered directly from Woodpecker but a eBay seller.  I did email the seller right after the package was received, no reply yet.  They have a comment which states if you can't gives us five stars contact us to see if we can make it right so we'll see how it goes.

The screw was sticking up and crooked.  I already thought of opening up the 1/4"-20 hole to 5/16"-18, use a thumb screw instead with a thin piece of acrylic plastic tapped the same as a shoulder.
