Cut Perfect, Fast and Easy Chamfered Corners

Woodpckers' Solid Aluminum Corner Jig Delivers Perfect Shapes Every Time. In most woodworking projects, success or failure hinges on the details. That includes perfectly shaped corners on the tops for tables, cabinets and other furniture. Woodworkers most popular corner shapes are radii and chamfers (sometimes called “clipped corners”). These look great when perfectly cut, but even a slightly misshapen corner, as often happens when cut with a jigsaw, will spoil an otherwise great project.

When They’re Gone, They’re Gone! Like all Woodpeckers' OneTIME Tools, the Corner Jig is scheduled for a one-time production run. We’ll make only enough units to fill orders received by the January 9, 2017 deadline. Once orders are filled, the tool will be retired from Woodpeckers' product line. Order yours today! Delivery is scheduled for May, 2017.

I can understand the usefulness of the radius corners but the chamfer set makes me laugh. How hard is to cut off a corner.

i agree. Seems to me it would take more time to set this up than to just nip the corners off...even if you were doing a bunch. But then again I don't think these one time tools thrive on rationality! (and I'm a fan of several of them)

Personally I really think I would benefit from the corner radius set but it is a tough pill to swallow with the Rockler version is only $50. It is that hideous blue though...

With track saw? Maybe. Still need to mark every corner and line up your track.
With regular saw, no. You'll need to setup TS sled or a miter gauge with stop. Will not match the accuracy and consistency of that jig. Even more problematic with large panels.
Having said this there is no way I would purchase that corner jig.

Regarding the jig. Attaching replaceable corners with three (!) screws seems excessive. Some kind of pin or snap-on solution would do.

Fascinating real world of cutting a chamfer like those with a router is that it can be a lot of wood to chew off and would not necessarily result in a clean cut with the larger chamfers. It's the reality of cutting close on a bandsaw and then doing final jig work for best quality. Cutting off a lot of wood on a corner with a router bit isn't going to be happy result. A sharp saw blade would be infinitely better.
Agree, but still finishing with the jig and router.

How can I preorder in Australia?

We do not ship to Australia. You could try contacting Woodpeckers to see if they have distribution in Australia.

So, question: does the WP corner jig really work with a free hand or do you really need to put it on a router table? I don't have a table built yet, and the Rockler one appears to be table-based only. Thanks!

[member=62215]thekevmeister[/member], welcome to the forum. You can see the Woodpeckers' jig demonstrated with a handheld router at around the 1:00 mark in their video.
