I was there today. I kinda wished I had planned, and had the time for, two days. Maybe it was me, but the sessions this year seemed to be better than in the past.
Besides the usual vendors (Peachtree, Woodline, Bosch, etc...), Woodpeckers was there and brought along a nice, really nice, collection of "no longer available" one-time tools! Picked up a couple and they were even discounted a bit.
One deal they had was that table-saw alignment jig, it was, I think 59 or 69. It was 20 off the regular price. The corner box clamps were discounted as well. Perhaps if someone in need of either of these, or anything else, maybe an email claiming you forgot to buy it while you were there may elicit a positive response.
They also had on display the radius one-time set and were taking orders. If ordered at the show, they discounted the shipping. Shipping will begin in July.
Towards the end, there was a drawing that required you to be there to win and were allotted 60 seconds to announce your presence, otherwise they moved on to another name out of the hat. They gave away a $1,500.00 Powermatic Bandsaw. They called three names before they had a winner. I think the first name drawn finally appeared while they were in the midst of looking for the second name drawn. Oops! To late...
Oh, for those of you that own the Fein Multimaster... They, Fein, were at the show and had a pretty good deal on their long-life 10-pack of blades. 140. They will be at JLC and mentioned they will have some kind of 25-pack on sale and the final cost will be in the 6-7 dollar a blade range. It seems that the competition from Imperial and the other after-market blade suppliers got their attention and Fein finally dropped the price on their replacement blades.
If anyone attends this show in the future and have plans on making a large single-item purchase, Sunday afternoon about 2 hours before the doors close is a great time for last minute deals. I was approached by a few vendors offering some pretty sweet deals if I took the floor model. (this is how I purchased my industrial model Sawstop a few years ago).
