When I first looked at this cross section of wood after an initial rough sanding an image popped out.

It looks like a _______.

So in the spirit of the old inkblot test what do you see when you first look at the picture?

Maybe there's nothing to see and I just a bit looney! ;D ::) ;) ???

Clearly it is a male turkey from a front view.  His neck and head are a little hard to see, but they are there.

Very interesting, 2 turkeys, a galaxy or pig.  8)

I first saw sort of an angel fish.  3 fins, dorsal, tail and caudal and an eye.

I see a piece of wood sitting on a systainer! ;D

Can't see the turkey and I don't see the Galaxy either!

Well, perhaps it shows where my mind is, but I see a big breast. Nipple and all.  ::)

Turkey. Ha!  ???

It's a map of the expansion of the Universe since the Big Bang. I just can't figure out those anomalies at the upper right. Maybe they are a future development?

That would be a great Tie Dye!  It reminds me a bit of a vision I had at Alpine Valley, 1984...can you guess what show I was at?  Did you find that just for me D?  As Poto describes....definitely some Wood Porn.

t

Edit:  I have to admit that I saw the Turkey at first glimpse as well.

I hate to admit it, but I saw the turkey first, too. It's just that breasts are a lot more fun  8)

Dude, now that I think about it, it certainly is just for you.  Maybe I could scan it and somehow get a screenprint  that could be used for a new T-Shirt design.

At one point way earlier in my life I sure would have probably taken a trip or two with Mr. Kesey if given the chance.

If he was still around I'd certainly like to have had the opportunity to at least buy him a cup of coffee and bend his ear for an hour or so.
