been trying to find info on if the PRE SEPARATOR CT-VA-20 will work with the wcr 1000? anyone have any info if it will fit?

I had this same question as well.  I've been trying to figure out a configuration that would work with either the Festool or Oneida cyclone and the Workcentre.

The Workcentre has right at 23" between the bottom of where the Systainer would go and the bottom of the "peg" board.  That is assuming you remove the rotating shelf (which would not make sense).  21 1/2" if you leave the rotating shelf.

Edited my edit:  I'm not sure of the actual height of the separator since it shows 14" on Festool's website, which I know is wrong if you add the clear bin (which is 13 3/4" on it's own).  So it may fit, but I'm still digging for the info for both of us.

I found on another site that the height is 20 9/32" with the bin, but hopefully someone will confirm.

Solved...

I have the CT26 and the CT-VA-20 for a couple months.  I just received my work center today.  I had no proof it would work but others said it would.  I don't use the center section of the CT-VA because I clean out the small area often enough and it saves space.  The work center does not or will not fit on the CT-VA so I had to first take off the CT-VA and latch the work center to the CT26.  Looks like the only option for the CT-VA is to just sit it in the middle like I have it shown.  Its not attached in any way.

I am trying to use the space over the vac.  The biggest systainer I could fit is the one shown, I believe it is a sys 3.  But obviously you can't open the lid so one thought is to get one of systainer drawer systems in the sys 3 height and make do.

Would be nice to lower the black work tray but it hits the systainer thats there so you only have a few inches between the tray and the tool holder above it.

I hope I am missing something but right now this thing isn't the cats meow I thought it would be.  Would be nice to see pictures of how other users have used theirs with regards to this tray, the two tool holders, etc.

If anyone has any suggestions, they are more than welcome.  I want to make the most of this thing.

I kinda understand where you're coming from.  I thought it would just make sense when it arrived and my workflow would change automatically.  I think it comes from being set in my ways because I've always done something a certain way, and even though it causes issues (screws falling off the table, drill getting knocked off, loosing a bolt/nut/washer, sander in the way when trying to rotate the board) it feels natural even though it's not efficient or smart.  Where this really helps is when I am putting something together.  I put all the part bags on the hooks or in the top center tray, and use the rotating tray for the parts I'm working on.  The holes are good for Allen wrenches that typically come with the items I buy, or the stuff I build.

I think it just comes down to making yourself aware of its presence and using it.

I've been trying to figure out this very question, if the CT VA-20 cyclone would fit into the WCR 1000 workstation. Your photos encouraged me to try and sure enough it all fits together. Here's the mash up mounted on a CT 33 E with the boom arm. Originally the CT VA-20 was purchased for a specific project, namely separating hazardous dust from ripping a 100 Hardi panels into strips, but I did not have any long term plans and the CT VA-20 was taking up shop space. Now it's been put to functional use and reduces the consumption of dust collector bags.

I recently purchased the WCR 1000.  The separator does fit within the WCR.  Does restrict hanging longer items on the pegboard.  I don't do that at this point, so it doesn't matter.

However, noticed that some of the pictures in this post include the ct Festool 495802 Handle.  I have that handle and couldn't install it unless I loosened the screws to move it out of the way.  The WCR base would not fit without doing that.  After installing the WCR I tightened the handle screws as best as I could.  However, I still think it isn't right.  Is there a workaround so the handle will coexist with the WCR.  Also, no holes on the WCR for 496122 CT Mounted Tool Holder.  Since I already have it, I'll have to drill holes for it to fit.

For woodferret.  If you are asking me, I just purchased it new directly from festool.  So it must the tloc version.
