The tournament's gonna begin. Which country you think will be the champion?

Scolari reckons Argentina v Brazil in the final. I'd be happy with that. There are quite a few times that the host nation has won. And a European team have never won in South America I think.
I predict England will play poorly and scrape through by some good fortune then play the game of their lives and go out by some bad fortune. It always seems the way.

It's called the Football World Cup. It's the football that you play by controlling a ball with your feet not the football you play by controlling the ball with your hands  [tongue]
 
Being the host nation, I think Brasil has a good chance. After all, they're playing with a 12th man, and that guy is crazy! I guess the final will probably be Brasil against a European country like Germany, Spain or The Netherlands.
 
I would pick Brazil by default, they will make the final and the other team they are supposed to play in the finals will probably be taken hostage.  It will be a quick tourney for the USA.
 
I wonder if I will ever see The Netherlands win a World Cup in my lifetime. The best team to have never won it all...

I must say, I truly enjoyed watching The Netherlands destroy Spain in today's match...

Not a bad way to start this World Cup.

I didn't see any of the game but that had to feel good for the Dutch!  Oranje!!  That's a big win.
I'm as Dutch as they make em, so thats my pick for the cup.
 
My heritage is French/German but I lived in Amsterdam for a couple of years while working in Europe.

The people of Nederland are friendly like Texans. It's wonderful to see such a small country full of such nice people do so well on any world stage.

It doesn't hurt that they are so good at Futbal...
